X2 x64 Pro will not even start on new i7 laptop? rebooted andit launched?

It's an asus N56vm-2GB nvidea Video, 8GB Ram-tons HD space. It only has the realtek HD sound but I figured it at least would launch? I only wanted it for playback of Audio projects. I mean the hour glass doesn't even spin?
Any ideas?
I do plan on getinga USB audio interface to enhance the audio going to my mixer. but..... very weird.

What did you do for updating software versions for Win 7?  Also for x64?  I have Native Instruments and you need to make sure you have everything updated to the latest versions.

    What else is running?

I only installed X2, and the included Sothsynths. I have Kontakt 5, OZone, all that stuff but figured for the party type gig I would just make audio files .

Until you get a dedicated audio interface with good 64bit drivers, i would install X2 32bit on your 64bit OS. This will rule out the realtec 64bit drivers or rule in :)

    Hey CJ

Tink I'd rather get the interface. I am searching reviews etc now. One problem I am running into on the inexpensive side is "bus p[owered". I do NOT want bus powered-My laptop is all USB 3.0
    Thanks

I'm running SONAR X2 x64 on an HP laptop and when just editing or checking out things I often use the onboard Realtec driver without any issues. I also use ASIO4ALL if an ASIO driver is required (other DAWS and some standalone synths etc) and it too works fine. Of course I'm not doing live monitoring but for a sketchpad, playback and editing this works perfectly well.

It can take a bit to setup but some advice: Disable Windows sounds and this will stop Windows from grabbing hold of the onboard sound and creating all sorts of conflicts wioth SONAR which is the root of most problems. YVMV

    Hey Mike

Yes I definitely haven't done enough and I do know what to do-old retired tech here-The laptop also has an upgraded sound system, but it's still realtek. I ordered afocusrite Scarlett 8i6 -will be here today. I'm just not going to mess with the realtek anymore. I do need to remove allof the bloat -It's an Asus N56VM-nice laptop.

    Thanks
    Frank

    Frank,

You might also want to set up Windows to use the Realtek. That way it won't interfere and try to grab the Focusrite, which will then be left alone to be used exclusively with SONAR. You'll just need to remember to power up the Focusrite before you start SONAR or it won't see it.
