X2A has seriously borked my Sonar installation
My X2 Producer installation was rock solid, no crashes or any showstoppers. However since installing X2A I now get 1) random ntdll.dll crashes. 2) random rdas1117.dll crashes. 3) Cannot add or remove anything in the prochannel. Crash reports are generated but will not complete sending to cakewalk. Just opening or closing a project or switching screensets can cause a dll fatal error. I'm doing an uninstall of X2A now and I'm going to try reinstall X2. Any ideas as to why I suddenly get dll crashes would be great, anything to do with the 2012 VC++ redistibutable that was installed with X2A?

shambler: lets talk about your system. 1 is the os updated and did you install the optional stuff at ms update ? 2 whats the motherboard and video card ... anything to do with the 2012 VC++ redistibutable is not a issue !!

Hi StarTekh, OS is fully updated including all optional updates. Motherboard is a gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P, video card is NVidia GTX460. [edit] X2 reinstalled and testing.

OK, I have deleted Sonar and reinstalled X2 and everything appears to work fine. Now, do I risk installing X2A again? ;) [edit] ReDownloading the update just to make sure...4 mins to go I'll keep you posted ;P Installing... Testing...

Gremlins banished, I'm going to have a good look around for stragglers, but for now X2A is behaving itself...sighs relief.

Thanks for digging in for me StarTekh, problem appears to have been banished. I uninstalled X2, reinstalled, applied the quick fix and then applied X2A update, testing all the way and this time it just worked. I have loaded my most demanding projects and they are rock solid again. . . . . . Now the only question is, what's that enormous tomato doing in your avatar? =)

Thank goodness everything appears to be okay. I've installed X2a myself and all appears to be okay at my end. Kinda wonder, when you see peeps still having problems here and there.

I have to add that I uninstalled all of the VC++ 2005, 2008 ,2010, 2012 redistributables before reinstalling X2, patch and x2a, But I'm still extremely worried about the tomato in StarTekh's sig! It's time to spill the salad I say.

I had a very similar problem and the fix was the same. Repeated the D/L and reinstalled and it's working now. It doesn't feel right though. I can't put my finger on it but the system seems slower now and it takes a while to load projects. I'm thinking it's all about win 8 and the touch screen but nobody would ever admit it.

Thanks StarTekh. I did refresh my motherboard drivers recently as my Layla3G started to die, to cover all bases I updated everything save the BIOS (we all know this is a risky business). I'll keep an eye out for you at a real mixing desk =)

I have it running on Win 8 and have not seen any slowdown, in fact it may run a tiny bit better. I do not play with the touch screen at the moment, so maybe there is something there with that. Are you seeing anything other than project loads? What about a defrag or disk cleanup? Just some thoughts, hope it stays settled down for you, Bob Bone
