X2a Audio Waveform Display Bug
Can anyone confirm they have seen this bug: I recorded about 2-3 minutes of stereo audio (44.1/24). When finished, I looked at the waveform and there were a couple of sections that were "missing", in other words blank. But the audio was there, it's a graphic/display issue. When I zoom in far enough, I can see the entire waveform, but if I zoom out it disappears again. When I export the audio to Sound Forge it looks fine. I deleted the contents of the picture cache folder, but this did not fix the problem. Anyone seen this? I reported it to CW. JG www.jerrygerber.com

I also tried: 1. Changing settings in the aud.ini file 2. Recomputing the waveform 3. Changing from WDM to ASIO Drivers 4. Closing and opening the program. When I export the audio to Sound Forge, the waveform is correct. When I delete the audio track in Sonar, create a new audio track and import the same audio that I recorded in X2a, the problem persists, there are missing gaps in the waveform. Upon zooming in closer, the gaps turn into white, vertical lines, and when I zoom in further (much further), the waveform appears normal. Zoom out again and the problem is back. Definitely a graphics issue, perhaps related to my graphics card, a bug in X2 or a Windows 7 (64) issue? Graphics card: Nvidia, GEForce 210 JG www.jerrygerber.com

While Sonar is closed, delete the contents of the "picture cache" folder.

For those that are interested, tech support helped me determine the nature of this bug: When using tempo changes in a project, the waveform draws incorrectly, leaving blank spaces and/or white vertical lines. This is confirmed and a known bug in Sonar X2a. If the tempo changes are removed, the waveform draws correctly. All other attempts to get the waveform to draw correctly (recomputing waveform, deleting all picture cache files, changing drivers, etc. do not work. JG www.jerrygerber.com

I experienced this in 8.5 tried to export it in x2a and same thing its blank. All tracks were blank like 2 measures all at the same time/measure. But its only on that single project and never experienced it on the next projects.

Did they, by any chance, mention if they plan to fix this bug?

Tech support, as usual, was indefinite about it. Though he said that CW has logged the bug and is aware of it, either the engineers don't communicate to tech support their intentions or tech support doesn't tell us. JG www.jerrygerber.com

Well, they fixed something like 250 bugs in X2a, so hopefully this will get fixed in the next update/upgrade. Bob Bone
