X2a Freezing on Exit

I have been experiencing this problem with 3 separate projects now in X2a.  I uninstalled and went back to X2 and the problem goes away.  I realize that there can be a 1000 different things that may be causing this, but I suspect a bug in Sonar seeing that there is no problem until the application is patched to X2a.
 
Essentially, everything works just fine... until I go to close the program.  It locks up with that never-ending recursive circle cursor.  I've tried waiting as long as 20 minutes and have to end the process in order to move on with my life.
 
Is anyone else experiencing this problem???
 
Some details:
I'm running Windows 8 Pro (64-bit) with Sonar X2a Producer (64-bit).  Very new PC, 8 Gigs RAM, plenty of HDD space, quad core, etc.   I use standard plugins like Waves, Izotope and use the SSL Native Duende plugs.  All of these 3rd parties have been confirmed to work with 64-bit Windows 8. 
 
Hardware-wise, I'm using the RME FF800 (not that this has anything to do with the problem). 

RME FireFace 800, 3.4GHz quad-core AMD-64, 8 Gigs RAM Sonar X2a Producer, Fav. Plugs: Ozone 5 Advanced, Waves, Sonnox, Melodyne, Voxengo, SSL Native, Drumagog 5 Platinum

    X2a has started to do this to me as well lately.

    But only on a project that I use for testing and learning, which has seen a lot of abuse.

    Do you have some lingering reverb/echo effect that is still sending audio out while you are trying to close Sonar?  Test by turning off the audio engine before shutting down.

    When i went to X-2a i had the same problem. Turns out all of my plugins Waves ect. was loading the 32bit versions inatead of the 64bit versions. But the problem was something called bitbridge which i think is what sonar uses to run 32bit plugins in X-2 64bit. I deleted all my 32bit plugins most of which i had 64bit anyway, some i didnt. I then did a ctrl, alt, delete. go to processes, find bitbridge and hit end process. Open sonar rescan plugs made sure they were all 64bit and have never had the problem again.

    X-3e/X-2a, Windows 7 64bit, Intel i7-2600, 16Gb ram, 4 Tb HDD, 32 inch monitor, RME FireFace UFX, Shure SRH1840 Headphones, KRK Rockit 5 monitors w/ KRK 10 inch sub and 3 Dachshunds.

    I use JBridge wrapper for Melodyne and Drumagog. I've removed all of the other 32-bit plugs seeing that I have the 64-bit versions.  64-bit drumagog is due out this month (fingers crossed... it's been promised "any day now" for several years).  Melodyne... well.. just being lazy and cheap seeing that there IS a 64-bit version available. 

    Thanks for all of the responses.  Still having the problem, but I will keep testing to see if it really is a 32 vs 64 bit 3rd party issue...

    64 bit machine, bitbridge AND Sonar.exe refuse to shut down in task manager, always have to force shutdown or manually do it...this is after I close Sonar...X2...and one other thing the search option on this forum sucks sewer water...worthless...worthless...worthless...

    I'm using SOnar Platinium on a 6 core Lynx Audio machine and a ton of vintage pre-amps/eq's/comps I build for fun and sometimes money, REDD.47/API/Neve I also use the UAD stuff, and also use a Macbook Logic 9 through Apogee...
