X2a Producer Audio Clip Editing Question

1. Split a clip into 3 parts
2. Delete the center part
3. Copy another clip and paste it in the center hole
4. Stretch the new center clip ending beyond the 3rd clip beginning
5. Move the center clip to another track or lane

I now have a 4th split clip of the area that was overlapped attached to the new clip that resembles the 3rd clip's beginning

If I move this 4th clip back to the original track it changes to the ending of the overlapped center clip

Make sense?

X1 did not do this. I could overlap clips all day and not create new splits. These splits are hard to control and edit without a slough of strange things happening

How do you stop this behavior in X2a Producer?

Also, Auto Crossfade is ON even when it's OFF. Most annoying!

I can get around it by holding the mouse toward the vertical center rather than the bottom corner.
