X3 64 not picking up my good ol Sony Soundforge plugs..

Yes, they're old, but Sony Soundforge shipped with some real gems, like Wavehammer. X2 32bit still saw them... Any idears why X3b won't?

What version of SoundForge? SoundForge is a 32bit application. Prior to SoundForge 10, Sony only shipped 32bit DX plug-ins which will not work in 64bit SONAR. With SoundForge 10, Sony bundled a few 64bit plug-ins including Wavehammer intended for use in Vegas which will work in 64bit SONAR.

Hmm. Explains. Soundforge 9. It's a sad day - those plugs are very very good. I thought BitBridge was supposed to handle that. Oh Well..

Bitbridge works with VST only. If you really want them and do not want to buy a new version of SoundForge, you could try wrapping the plug-ins in a DX-to-VST wrapper like this one http://xlutop.com/buzz/zip/dxshell_v1.0.4b.zip and see if they will load via BitBridge. Have not tried this process for the SONY plug-ins so I cannot say it will work in this case.

Yep, you need Vegas x64 to see those plug-ins in Sonar x64.... 32-bit DX's are not bridged.

I do not think Vegas is a requirement, unless it was changed in SF11. I have SoundForge 10. I do not have Vegas and the 64bit SoundForge plug-ins show up in X2a.

That is correct but there were 7 64bit DX plugins included with SF10.

It has been a while since I installed SF10, I do not remember anything special about it. There may have been a check box to select on install. You may already have them installed. Since they are DX plug-ins they will be at the top of the plug-in list under Sony.

Do you have Sound Forge set up as an audio editor inside of Sonar?
You would be able to use the SF effects on individual clips.

When you install SF 10 or 11, it detects whether your OS is x86 or x64 then automatically installs the corresponding dx version. That is, where there is a choice of 32 or 64 bit. Simples.

FWIW I have Sound Forge 11 installed, and I see 7 Sony DX plugs in X3.  Maybe a reason to upgrade Sound Forge?

I think Sound Forge is the most stable audio app I've ever used.  I can't remember a single crash on my system.  I'm sure others have managed to get a crash or two, but compared to anything else I've run it's a rock.  I know the integration with SONAR has been a problem for some, but I've never had issues there either.
