I'm in... frankly I'd be in for the Gobbler and Melodyne integration alone, but the new comp feature looks great too. My only thing is which version - I've used the producer version up till now, but the new content leaves me surprisingly cold. But that's as much a function of being an old fart that has already picked a lot of tools, and become comfortable with them as anything else. I sympathize with the bakers - they have to keep coming up with ways to make their newest product sparkly<G>! Ironically, in some cases I already own the tools, in other cases I've tried them but settled on alternate solutions.
There are two unknowns this time around - have they fixed any of my long-standing bugs? Usually they have addressed some of them. I did a quick search and saw nothing about control data linking to notes, probably my biggest gripe, but I didn't find it. I hope they fixed this! The other looming question is what will happen as a result of the pending acquisition... but I've decided that the Gobbler and ARA bits are worth ending up with an orphan because I'll get at least a couple of years out of it no matter what happens, and that's worth $150 to me. Let's see how their servers are doing<G>...

I'm downloading too. I wish Cake would come up with a download manager or something that would allow the download to continue where it left off if the connection goes down. Also the part2 file does not display its size so Firefox can't give an estimate on the download time. I guess I'll go to bed and hope its ready in the morning.

Hi Samuel Just out of interest, what did you get charged in Euros? We got charged £119 (GB Pounds), which definitely does not equate to $149 £119 at current conversion rates is actually around $192 Even if they are adding on a further 20% VAT (our current rate) above the registered price, it should still only be $178.80, or £110.80. And if VAT is being added on top of the advertised price, I believe it should say so. I don't believe this is very fair at all, but what do I know.

Comping and take lane clean up...plus quite of a few of the other UI enhancements have my wallet in hand. Between SONAR X3 and Izotope's RX3, I'm a happy happy person. My wallet hates me, but I can ignore inanimate personified objects. I just realized: Izotope and CW are X3-ing it...coincidence?! Or giant audio conspiracy?!

Wow!! That's true! I didn't even reflect over this!.. I just blindly thought they would do the right thing! :( I payed €134 which is 181 US$... That's just lame.. What's up with this Cakewalk?... Should we have to pay almost as much as the ones that don't have the Producer edition, just because we're not Americans..?

I ordered the Producer X3 box set and download upgrade, with shipping it cost around $188 US. I'll wait till it gets here to install it. Downloading looks like an all day job. Lot's of great looking features !!

I just bought the X3 Producer upgrade from Sweetwater so I could use my Sweetwater card. They told me it could be up to 48 hours before I can download it. He said it looks like they already have several waiting on licenses from the manufacturer. I'm very sad right now.

Well I guess with all the changes and unrest going on of late at least some things never change !?
I feel a new thread coming up Paul...
Yup, probably, but it'll be a waste of time as they usually just cite exchange rate fluctuations over the year, blah, blah.............easily solved by charging everyone in $$ and just letting the purchasers credit card deal with the conversion using the prevailing rate at time of purchase, but they don't seem to want to hear that for some reason. All the other US companies I have bought from seem to manage it ok. It does look very good now that the grey acres have been banished, shame that there's always a sting in the tail if you live outside of the US. For this reason, I've always bought boxed versions from UK dealers for less than the d/l price, though they seem to be slow on the uptake this time round for some reason and are not even displaying coming soon type ads yet .

Previously it was euro = dollars, with lower # of Euros yes I'd guess it has to be a step in the right direction.

Actually, it's exactly the same surcharge as last year's upgrade differential - 29%
