X3 Producer Install Failure

Installed X3 yesterday with devastating results (devastating because X3 not only failed but has caused the same failure in my installation of X2 Producer and Sonar is the backbone of my voiceover business). During SCAN I get Runtime Error Message related to a program (bitbridge and scan) incorrectly trying to execute Runtime. Hitting OK keeps the SCAN running to the end. THEN, when I try to load a project (existing from X2 or new from X3) I get an error I've never seen before along the lines of "can't find the location of a plug-in for Saturation Knob" and asking me to associate it with one of the items in the dropdown menu. Unfortunately, the dropdown menu has 4 identical listings: Saturation Knob. If I click it, I get several minutes of hourglass until I get the "not responding" message. If anyone has any ideas, I'm open. I sent a message to Tech Support but no reply as yet (coming up on 24 hours--a lifetime when this is your business).
