You don't need to move anything, Just install it on the other machine.

Sonar is one of the few hassle free programs I know of that allows an owner to install on multiple PC's.
Just instal on your other PC and use the serial and registration numbers. Be sure to open as admininistrator.  You cannot let other people use the software, only you are agreeing to use it.
This has changed a little with the new version and it requires on line registration and Cake is keeping an eye on your installs.  The X series was the last of the easy as pie to activate versions.

The title is a little confusing, the were three versions of X3 are X3, X3 Studio and X3 Producer. You may install any version of X3 on more than one computer. If you purchased X3 Producer as an upgrade from X3 then you may only use X3 (any version) on one PC at a time.

The same is true for the current releases which are SONAR Artist, SONAR Professional and SONAR Platinum.

Sorry for the confusion scook, I have sonar artist and sonar professional just wanted to know if they were separate or if one was just an upgrade of the other. I was going to put artist on my laptop and keep pro on my pc

I'll try to explain. Your upgrade to X3 pro is your Sonar to install on as many machines that you need it to be on. It is the full version and not dependent on Artist. In fact you can remove Artist and forget about it. Its no longer needed. This would be true with Sonar 2015. Going from one version to another via an upgrade is the same as buying the full version except you get it at a reduced price.
