X3 - make a "user favorites" VST folder to show in browser?

Hi,

I suspect there's a way to create my own folder of favorite vst that will show in the browser
but wanted to check to see if anyone knows of a quick "how to" before I start guessing my way through it.
This is about how they show in the plug-is browser only, not where they're actually located on the pc.
I want to create a folder where I can put my most used favorite plug-ins so they're easy and quick to get to.

Thanks!

It would require a custom plug-in layout. The layouts are maintained in the Cakewalk Plug-in Manager.

So then you're saying to create a custom layout and just go fudge around until I figure it out?

I would rather not type out the help screens. The right-side of the Cakewalk Plug-in Manager is a menu builder utility to create the layouts. It can be directly accessed via the "Manage Layouts" option anywhere a plug-in list is displayed. In the browser it is the down arrow on the Plugins tab. In the context menus there is a "Plug-in Layouts". This is also where the layout to use is selected. Maybe when you get into the process, you will have a more specific question.

    Thanks scook,

I figured it out. I was just being cautious.
... got it under my belt now.

Understood. Glad it is working. Really can't mess anything up. The "Default All Plug-ins" layout is built on the fly. There is only one layout file supplied with X3 Producer called "X3 Producer Effects.pgl". Should the local copy of the file ever become unusable or go missing, the master copy is located in "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\SONAR X3 Producer\Plug-in Menu Layouts". Just like all the user files, holding SHIFT when starting SONAR will replace missing user files, holding CTRL+SHIFT while starting SONAR will overwrite the user files. Or manually copy the file.
