X3 upgrade sale?
Any idea when Cakewalk will launch X-mass sale for upgrades? I'm not ready to pay $149 for X2->X3 upgrade, but if the price will be $19 I will upgrade.

If there's nothing at Christmas (I hope there is) you probably have to wait less than a year, but I doubt it'll be 20$

I have to disagree. With the upgrades in X3 and especially the comping, Addictive Drums, Melodyne, and so many others, I think $149 is quite a bargain indeed.
This is the greatest update ever.

Formerly Dreamsharer, now taking it a lot easier and enjoying it a lot. . Cake user since V 3 Pro. Using Sonar X2a now and for the past three days since upgrade. Asus MB with I7 at 2.80 gig and 8 GB ram. Tascam US1800 for big stuff and MAudio Fast Track for goofing off. Love both! Several keyboards and many Fender and Gibson guitars along with Blackface Deluxe Reverb and Tweed Champ along with other amps. But in the end it is one guitar or key on one track at a time and the smile on our faces when it is done.

Sure this has been beaten to death elsewhere, but the upgrade to X3 has so many neat third party plugs, it is an excellent deal if you don't need to use them in other DAWs.. And know that the licensing for these things has to be passed on if the company is going to make a profit and stay solvent.
Microcosm of a guy like me is that I already got all the legal and registered versions and beyond of the Sonar limited plugs.
What's in it for me???.
Still can't chain more than one synth on a track any more than Sonar 4, begging the company for years to fix this. Appologists will point to a convoluted process to clone this and that to open a fleet of channels, and then we will be almost to where Reaper is.
$200 was the brick wall of passing on an upgrade to support buying into restricted versions of what I already have.
Black list me as an apostate, but passing the generous 200 buck upgrade until maybe Sonar X10 or later if Gibson doesn't make a mess out of things.
