IF there are no documented limits on the groove clip length, why should it matter what I do with a groove clip with regards to length?

Probably no one at CW ever thought someone would do 96 measure groove clips. If I had a clip that long I would just ctrl-drag it if I wanted a copy.

I'm still not exactly sure what the problem it, because there' a mixture of different topics in here, some which seem to have been solved, some of which seem to have not been solved, I still don't know if turning off snap to zero audio crossings helps one or more of the problems, and it seems like there's a workaround according to Dave: If you need to adjust length, do so before creating a groove clip. This seems logical to me...length is about standard clip editing, groove clips are about slicing an existing piece of audio. Does the following not provide a simple workaround?

"Just to summarize, then, I'm not seeing any issues or limitations in creating long groove clips other than the mis-detection of Beats in Clip which is easily corrected in the Groove Clip section of clip properties. But if the length needs to be adjusted before groove clipping, it should be done by slip editing or splitting in the track view rather than by entering a Length in clip properties if the target length is over 68:256 beats."

My only issue is what I originally reported. I am still seeing the same behavior. I am not interested in chasing the snap issue. I have enough issues with SONAR.

I used to use the groove clipping to repeat phrases in a song when they had the same pattern instead of copying a clip to an additional point in the project. That is why I have longer clips. I used to work this way without issue. That is why I am still trying to do it like that occasionally. My original issue is not solved as reported. Alex asked me to report and I did. I reported what I found. That is all I am concerned about.
