X3b CWB files play in windows media player - weird SOLVED

I created a CWB file to upload to support. I cut down the project to a 24 second clip. I moved the clip from 20 seconds out to position 00:00 on the timeline. I then bounced each of the 2 takes to new clips in the take lanes so that there were no remnants of full take clips.
 
After uploading the file to my FTP, I tried to download the cwb file. I was surprised that the windows media player now plays CWB files. I do not know if they were separate audio tracks one after another or not in the cwb file, but not what I was expecting. I expected the file to download, not to play. :)
 
I guess the bakers are going to have to answer this one. Does windows play the take lanes sequentially from the CWB file and hopw long has windows been able to process and play them as audio files?

    Since about 1995. CWB files are simply Riff wave files with special chunks in them.
