X3e Drop Outs are just Too Much!

I'm really just getting started with X3e and the more I use it the more unstable it becomes. I have never in all my years of using Cakewalk had as many drop outs for no apparent reason as I have in X3. I've read and tried most of the fixes mentioned on the forums, but after today's relentless series of drop outs I am seriously considering X3 unusable. I cannot even get through one single pass of a 2:45 minute song without a drop out.

The song has 23 tracks and 7 busses including several instances of Dim LE, Drop Zone, VGA+, and Sonitus EQ. Typical scenario for me.

In X1 and 2 whenever a drop out occurred I could start playing right where it stopped. In X3 I have to RTZ and hit play several times before it will start.

Even without a drop out X3 will not play from the middle of the song. Every time I stop I have to restart from an earlier point to play again.

Same system. Same fixes. A whole lot more drop outs.

This and the fact that X3 will not retain screensets. They revert to default upon reopening a project, locked or not.

While I do think X3e is a little more sensitive to dropouts, I believe that you can adjust the dropout tolerance in the AUD.INI file. Also, when I get dropouts, I can resume playing from here the dropout occured. The only time I wasn't able to do so was when the dropout was caused by the audio driver failing.

This may be project specific so I'm keeping an eye on it. Another (smaller) project I went to is working fine with no drop outs at all.

Check files and make sure you aren't recording 32 bit. IO can cause drops.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

There you go. Project specific. Now all you need to is find the differences and determine the culprit from there.
