XENYX 1204USB

http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/1204USB.aspx Does anyone have experience with the most recent line of these mixers, specifically the USB audio interface portion? I say 'recent' because I have read some posts here about the the usb feature is just an added adapter (UCA-200) and it 'sucks' from all accounts. It now appears that the new models have the usb built right into the mixer and they have Win32, Win64 and ASIO drivers available on their website. Thanks Pete

even the UCA-200 has "ASIO" Drivers.

according to page 11 of the manual, the USB specs say 16bit/48kHz max.  in other words, all they did was move the UCA-200 INTO the case instead of leaving it external.

I cannot find any information stating that it has direct ins for all inputs to the USB device, so I would believe that means it does not and therefore will only record the MAIN OUTS (1 stereo pair) on the USB connection into sonar (or any DAW), just like the UCA-200 does.

I would not consider it for a soundcard myself.

Well it is a sister board to the one I have the X1222Fx. That came with a useless little box that had no drivers so was pointless. But! I see they do have ASIO drivers now. Whether they are actually GOOD is an unanswered question. Try Gear Sluts Form too.

The mixer if it's the same components is surprisingly good. I bought mine to aviod having to lug my Yamaha 01V to gigs. I've had it for at least 5 years now and it's road worthy. The EFX are worthless but get you by at gigs. They did a good job of keeping the noise floor down. I use mine for a output monitoring control in the studio. It's on 12 hours a day 7 days a week. No problems yet.
If I needed another I'd go for the one your looking at and if the USB works then, bonus. Bet it works with all software minus Sonar :)

the mixer itself I would certainly consider using.  I've used Behringer mixers before and they're decent quality.

the soundcard part of it - not so much.
