X-Y MIDI Joystick Controller ???

Is there any kind of "joystick" MIDI device/hardware that I could use to record the movements with, having both the X & Y movements being assigned to a midi controller number?

Reason being, I'm using REAKTOR Session, of which some ensembles implement an X-Y control cell whose movements can be recorded on a MIDI Track under SONAR...but SONAR and the PC chokes and locks up trying to record the movements made under REAKTOR even though playback of recorded controllers will work fine.

So I'm trying to think of an alternative means to input joystick movements as midi control data...any ideas anyone?

Maybe a Korg Kaoss Pad? There are also a couple keyboard controllers that have an X-Y joystick. Off the top of my head I know the Novation Remote25 does.
