Xenyx 1202FX w/ UCA202 + Sonar 7
I bought the Behringer U-Control UCA202 to hook my Xenyx 1202FX mixer up to my computer. When I set a track on Sonar 7 and try to choose the input for what instrument I want to use, all that shows up is that there is a USB cable in. It does not let me choose a specific line in (for example- Line In 5/6). In other words, I have my guitar hooked up to the mixer in the Line 5/6 but that does not show up in Sonar. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong? Thank you

the behringer UCA202 is only 2 channel. it does not record each individual input. http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/UCA202.aspx notice at the very top: Ultra low-latency 2 In/2 Out USB/Audio Interface with Digital Output 2 input, 2 output.

Okay so if I choose the U-Control as the input for my track, and I have a guitar and a microphone plugged into the mixer, Sonar does not pick up any frequency. When I play guitar or sing into the mic Sonar does not pick up any sound

how do you have everything hooked up? what are your settings in sonar? does it show the UCA202 inputs on an audio track INPUT? we'll need more info to help.

I have my computer hooked to the U-Control, the U-Control hooked to the mixer with double RCA cables, and my guitar and vocals hooked straight into the mixer My settings for Audio-- Playback Timing Master: 3: Speakers (USB Audio CODEC) Record Timing Master: 1: Microphone (USB Audio CODEC) I also have the USB Audio CODEC checked in the Input and Output Drivers Is there anything else you need to know?

ok - better, but I still need as much detail as you can give me. remember that I can't see what you see. the U-Control hooked to the mixer with double RCA cables hooked into the mixer WHERE? and my guitar and vocals hooked straight into the mixer again - hooked into the mixer WHERE? and which buttons are pressed on the mixer and which ones are off? now - some serious problems I already see: My settings for Audio-- Playback Timing Master: 3: Speakers (USB Audio CODEC) the playback should be thru the UCA202 ONLY, not thru your computer. you'll need to use headphones or speakers connected to the UCA202 (or you can route the output of the UCA202 back into the mixer, but that's a little more complicated, so let's leave that for later). go to:OPTIONS>AUDIO>DRIVERS and set the INPUT and OUTPUT to the UCA202 ONLY then set the RECORDING AND PLAYBACK TIMING MASTERS to the UCA ONLY Record Timing Master: 1: Microphone (USB Audio CODEC) you said you have your mic connected to the mixer, so I assume that the USB microphone you have connected to the computer is not what you're trying to use, correct? if it is, then don't. in fact, I'd disconnect it during the time you're using sonar.

1. Download the newest UCA 202 drivers here............ http://www.behringer.com/EN/Support/U-Control-Downloads.aspx 2. Open SHS check for and set up UCA 202 Drivers......... 3. You may want to uninstall your onboard drivers............ This should allow you choose correct in/outs.........

The RCA cables are hooked into the CD/Tape input and output on the mixer The guitar is hooked into line 5/6 (L) and the microphone is hooked into line 7/8 (R) The only button that is pushed down on the mixer is "CD/Tape to control" The UCA202 is showing up in Sonar as USB Audio CODEC, not as UCA202

have you fixed all the things that zungle and I have mentioned? in a forum we can't see what you've done - you have to report back on the things we've suggested.

ok if you downloaded the drivers from the behringer site, you need to unzip it, then run the install program after you've unzipped it. if you've done that, then you need to change to ASIO driver mode: OPTIONS>AUDIO>ADVANCED>DRIVER MODE = ASIO then close and restart Sonar.
