Xp 64 bit pro and instrument definitions???

Every time I open Sonor 6 Home it say's that the MASTER.INS cannot be opened and that i'll have no instrument definitions.  Is there a patch or will it not work with XP 64?

SONAR 6 isn't officially supported under Windows XP 64-bit. (Many programs and VSTs don't officially support the 64-bit version of Windows XP, as you've probably found.)

Has this worked for you in the past?

I've listened to music i've wrote using the instruments but today was the first time I've seen that message.  I had to reinstall sonor and that's when it started.  I tried to install it as 32bit but it would'nt let me.

First, if SONAR is installed completely (and correctly), hold down the SHIFT key while double-clicking on the icon to launch it. This will "force a resync of your application data to the current user (you will see a prompt on launch)" according to Cakewalk Moderator Noel Borthwick.

If that doesn't do it, I suggest you completely un-install SONAR, search for and delete (if found) the MASTER.INS file, run a disc scan on your hard drive and let Windows fix any errors it finds, and then re-install SONAR. Your problem could just be with the Registry, or it could be with the hard drive and the files.

That fixed it.  I had to restore windows today and i guess when I reinstalled it it got out of sync.  All of the instruments are there.  It didn't show any drums.  Thanks alot for the help.

Glad that worked.

I don't know which "drums" you had, but if the were in the MASTER.INS file before, they should still be there now. I've edited mine, so I can't really tell you what should be there any more.
