X-touch Mini issues

Hello...
I taken a post from a thread I started awhile back and pasted it hear since since it was kind of a hardware software crossover problem... so here goes:

X-touch mini has been working great with Sonar Plat until I tried to use it with Studio One...
Now it won't work, even with Sonar PLAT...???    I reinstalled the AZ Controller, imported the mini preset, but no joy here :(   Pretty sure I followed all the installation instructions from Alexey's AZslow website exactly...
When I try to specify the in and out ports for AZ Controller, I am not given the option of choosing the X-touch Mini-- my only options are "midi".   It's probably operator error, as the problem usually involves ME , but I would like to sort it out if possible.
Any thoughts ?    Thank you...
Salud!

P.S.   I can't get it to work as a generic controller with Studio One either---hope its not a hardware failure.

Try disconnect, start Windows device manager, check the option "show not visible devices" (not exact since I have localized Windows).
Then remove everything related to Mini.

If you have used different USB ports to connect it, the system knows about several "minis". That confuse Sonar.

For general Mini healthy test, use Behringer editor.

Thanks... no luck so far.  Maybe I am looking in the wrong place?   In Device manager, would it be listed in keyboards, usb controllers, class bus devices, or sound/video/game controllers, or human interface controllers?
I found no references for Behringer or X-touch  in any of these categories... devices or controllers that are listed seem to have generic names..   hmmmmm?

It should be in "audio/video and game controllers".
With the option "View"/"hidden" (sorry, I have not idea how it is in english, I have German localization...), you should see some grayed devices there (if your Mini has ever worked and is disconnected now).

That's strange... it was not listed as a greyed out device.  Funny thing is, it worked just fine a week ago???

Was your windows recently updated to 1709 release? "Big" windows updates sometime "cleanup" devices and drivers...

BTW, what you see in the Device Manager when Mini is connected? I mean what exactly changes when you connect it, running Device Manager while you are connecting can help to spot the difference...

Have you tried Behringer editor? Does it see the device?
    if yes...

Can you try another DAW? I am going Reaper... you can download "demo" version without registration. And it is really fully working version, just with "Demo" dialog for several seconds on each startup. In its MIDI preferences, you can check which devices it detects.

If you can see it in Behringer editor also make sure it isn't set to MC mode in Behringer Edit. I believe it uses the Behringer software to interact with windows(?). Hope you get it figured out. I haven't tried mine in Studio One in MC mode, I've just left it connected as it was and use it with Sonar only. AZslow did a great job writing the preset for it, thanks again Alexey!

Thanks Almeister and Alexey... I am running Win 7 sp2.  I did get it to show up in the Device Manger though...

According to the Azslow website instructions, the X-touch Mini was supposed to be set to MC mode..??
No luck with Reaper... By the way, the transport section worked with Mixcraft, but no other functions.
I can't remember if I used standard or MC mode for aforementioned test.
Will keep at it until I figure this out...Thanks.

Yes, for AZ Controller preset it has to be in MC mode (otherwise layer buttons could not be used....).
In other DAWs it should somehow work in MC mode, but also can be switched into MIDI mode and used as generic purpose controller.
In reaper people primary OSCII-bot. But I have not yet ported AZ Controller to it

Uninstalled and reinstalled AZ Controller and X-touch mini preset.   I still have NO option to select the Mini from the In port or Out port in the Controller preferences dialog box... Only choices are None and MIDI...

SOLVED... Deleting the Sonar ini file seemed to do the trick!

    Thanks Alexey...

Now if I can only get it work with Studio One
