YAMAHA MOX6 -or- KURZWEIL PC3LE6 -or- KORG M50-61?.......

I'm in the market for my first keyboard synthesizer. Even though it's my first, I still want great quality.
 
 
My needs span a bit of a range:
 
- Multimedia scoring, with orchestral and exotic elements that sound believably close to their real-life counterparts
 
...as well as...
 
- Backing elements for my main music (hard rock/metal), from good strings and choral voices to abstract tones and atmospheres (akin to electronic elements in bands like Chimaira et al)
 
...and of course...
 
- A good MIDI controller for my SONAR X1P
 
And my budget is about $1,000. A lot to ask of that price, I know. But I believe there is something right for me out there!

    I have a PC3x and I think the LE6 uses the same noises. It sounds awesome and is very feature rich but it is not the most accessible instrument- programming a Kurzweil can be confusing for a start.

    I have heard nothing but raves about the Motifs also, but I've never owned one.

    If you are looking for a good keybed also look at the Roland ones- they are really pretty damn good.

    Thanks for your response! I looked into some Rolands around the same price range (Prelude, JUNO-Gi, GW-8), but they seemed a lot more geared toward the performance aspect, which I don't need. I don't foresee using the keyboard much outside of my home studio.

      The PC3LE will win that shootout every time. No contest. (I have a PC3 and a Motif XS and if I could only keep one it would be the PC3 every time).

    I have an MO6 and I think it's incredible for studio or stage.  It's not as versatile as the XS and XF are, but still very powerful and has great sounds.

    I can't comment on the others because I've never owned them.

    i have an MO6 with foot pedal i will make you a killer deal on. ordered it in for a client and then he canceled that part of his order. never opened $775
