Yamaha Dtxplorer - change the snare note

I just got the Yamaha DTXPLORER electronic drum kit. I hooked it up to Sonar X1 64bit on my Win7 64bit Ultimate machine and everything worked except the snare which was sending G2 instead of D3. So I figured this should be easy I can just change the note assignment in the drum module, much to my surprise it does not allow you to do this. I have since spent hours trying to find the right way to get this done. I can't be the only one with this problem.

What I want to do is to use the Kit as a controller for the on-board VST drum sets in Sonar X1. Since the Yamaha does not have a midi in this is really my only choice. I have read about drum maps and 3rd party software but it seems like changing 1 note should be easier than this.

Please help!

You can't change the midi note numbers that the Yamaha sends. You must change it in the host -ez drummer  SS drummer 2 or 3 or whatever drum sounds you are working with. Search over in the 8.5 sonar forum. you'll find some stuff on this there.

I have been searching all day and have not found clear instructions on how to change the note number short of making a whole drum map.

You can make a drum map with a single note in it if you want.  This would let you just remap that one note to something else.

Check out my video on drum maps if you don't know about them.

One of the biggest problems I have with drum maps is that you can't shift click and change a bunch of maps en mass. This would be a major improvement of a very powerful tool.
