Hit "E" on your QWERTY keyboard, or press the "FX" button in the control module.

Anonymungus!
Why does my spell-checker tell me I am misspelling  "replacer" ?

When you're editing a message on this forum, you can right-click on any word and add it to your dictionary... if you want. Now that Cakewalk has made "Replacer" a word, what the hey? But I'd only add it with an uppercase 'R.' ;)

Yes, in the toolbar as a shortcut. It just says FX on it and when I click it, it bypasses all FX so my now time marker in DR synch's with the track now time marker.

Re: Yeaah! DRUM REPLACER is pretty awesome !!! 2015/06/04 00:39:49 (permalink)
Well, I had my first major Drum Replacement Moment tonight. I'd tested it out but this was the first time I used it to salvage a song. I'd used acoustic drum loops for a song with a strong dance influence and the loops were perfect from the standpoint of the part, but the kick didn't have the "slam your gut" sound needed for hard-edged dance stuff. I tried dragging a kick sample in to double the kick but attempting to match the dynamics meant I would have been working on Clip envelope gain for the next month...

But Drum Replacer worked great. I cloned the drum track, dialed in a kick (and it tracked the original perfectly), then set it for the kick sound only (no dry) and layered with the original drums. It was perfect...made a huge difference in the song, and I could dial back on the EQ I had added to the original part to try and give the kick more oomph. Definitely a happy camper about how it all worked out.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!
