Real nice driving groove. My initial thought is the overdriven guitar on the left seems a little thin. Maybe double track that and roll the highs off a little? Jeez that bass sounds great! Nice drums too. Randy

Excellent piece. I love the your guitar tones on this tune. Vocals are awsome. And the drums sound really good - is that Superior Drummer 2?

batsbrew "Yesterday" (not the beatles tune, this is an original) http://www.lightningmp3.c..ive/32129-yesterday.mp3 Dang, I'm going to stop posting songs because of this, this is GREAT!!!!!!! There is no place for my garbage anymore. Either way, I enjoyed hearing this with the exception of that last statement. Kudos dude, you've got it figured out no doubt. But be aware everyone is going to ask : How and what did you use to record this with? Not just software, but equipment and technique, heck I'd like to know myself. I know your specifications are listed in your sig. but they say nothing about your method. Or is that a trade secret? AWESOME!!! Bobby

You always get such a great sound. This is no exception. Great tone all the way around. I hear several influcences here, intentional or otherwise, but it reminds me of several great groups. That bass is kickin' and some sweet jazzy riffs in the bridge. Very drifty. Great bass tone. The guitar was very good, but I might have liked it a little more upfront, touch more snarl, but a small crit. to a very well done project. Good vocals too. What's not to like? Daryl

rsp thanks man. you know, i love overdriven guitars that are fat.... and often times, that's the featured sound.. but i wanted this song to be more....open sounding, with a much more open arrangment, and that's why the choice on the skinnier guitar tone. took me a while to master that bass track... playing with my fingers, i tended to over do it. i had to learn to back off and let the riff float, and find the right eq to let the meat of the fingers drive it, instead of gain and finger power. light riffs, fat sound. timidi thanks sir listen i love drums. i'd trade off my guitar skills, to be a good drummer... but i can't play for ****e. LOL this guy that did the tracks for me, is a degreed player.... DFW area, his name is Brent Dacus. guitartrek thanks man, glad you dig the guitar tones. there's a LOT of acoustic in this tune. these drums are real drums. THAT's why they sound good! LOL bapu thanks man. bass line if FUN to play! rocking chair hehe, you gotta keep posting your stuff man. on this recording, i recorded and mixed in a roland vs-1880. all the rest of my work is typically in sonar and pc, but not this one. there's no real secret or method.. i just stick mics in front of stuff, try to get good sounds into the mic, and then use the daw as a tape recorder, and mix it down, using some effects and eqs and no tricks. thanks for listening daryl appreciate you listening in...... yeah, lots of influences showing in this one. i stole one of the ascending guitar riffs directly from todd rundgen, off of the "utopia theme". i'm sure he wont mind. LOL between the keys and the acoustics, i had to keep the electric guitars back a bit.... no fighting kids. scotty thanks man..... i'm sure you've heard this one before. VH chords tho.........? i don't know about that, i wrote this one on acoustic, so it translates well to one-guitar-one voice kinds of stuff... the guitar stuff is pretty basic, except for the occasional Asus2 chords! morenoise thanks rik. appreciate it

purple thanks man. yes, live instruments rule. cuz it's a real thing, lots of warts and stuff. njoy! paulo glad you dig it.... i love playing bass. i could lay down guitar and just play bass... but most folks never discuss the bass playing, the flashy guitar stuff always seems to overshadow... bass playing, is just good honest work. bretb thanks man, appreciate it!

There's some really cool tones in this tune. The guitars are really very nice. I think there's only three things I would change. The first is the levels. The guitars seem to taking a more predominant position in the mix than I would mix them. The same is true for the bass actually. It's a little weird - I think the vocals and drums are at the right levels. I'd just lower the guitars and bass a bit. The second is that I would even brighten up the bass - bring more of the pluck and presence. I think that'll sound nice. The last thing is I would add reverb to the snare to give it more space.
Need a song, demo or album mixed to sound great? Why waste weeks or months learning how to mix when I'm sure you'd rather spend your time writing songs and performing gigs? I can mix your tracks so that they sound fantastic. My rates are very affordable. Send me a PM to find out more.

Nothing like the real thing! The bass and drums sit real nice in the mix. Not overwhelming. The tone is nice too. I am a drummer also. The guy you have playing on this is a keeper. Great chops! Cymbal technique is superb! He is a real groove meister too! Guitar tones are nice. Bravo!

vechung thanks for checking it out... acoustigod appreciate the listen. well, bass and guitar level choices are purely subjective.. they're actually right where i want them. the bass drives the song, the guitar comes and goes, some when it DOES come on the scene, i want it really standing out. as far as bass tone choices, i prefer a more rounded tone. i don't want to hear much string noise, i dig the 70's style finger tone, but again, i would agree that all your suggestions would totally work too. patm300e i love real drums. i use superior drummer 2.0 to do my drum tracks now, but i prefer the real thing every time i can get it. thanks for listening! janet thanks janet, your very kind. if i could kidnap that drummer..... LOL mgh alright man, glad you dig it!

I'm glad I have to download to listen because I'll keep it in my playlist. Proof once again - If you want to record a great song, use real instruments and go for it. There's never going to be a substitute for the real thing. Question, last summer you posted a song with lyric " It's only in your Mind" I loved that song but can't find it on your web site.what was it called and is there still a link? Great job! A+

scotty i remember way back, when that album 1st came out.... wondering why he had all those covers on there! LOL musta been like 3 or 4 of them... but the other ones, the originals, the ones i cared about, were a little more.... 'progressive' than the ones before it.... my favorite vh was always fair warning
