Yet Another SSL Emulation ... from OverTone

Hey guys,

Some of you may be familiar with OverToneDSP's line of EQ and compressor plugins, which I'm a fan of.  They're cheap 'n' good.

They've just come out with an emulation of an SSL console's channel dynamics section.  Priced at twenty British pounds (about $34), it's the least expensive such plugin I know of.  Best of all, it works great, bringing that punchy sound that SSL fans crave.

The ProChannel equivalent will set you back a C-note (S-type comp and gate/expander), and I really prefer the OverTone plug's sonics, so this is a real bargain in my book.  No, it doesn't beat every other SSL emu out there (hmm ... UAD, Waves, Softube, NI, IK, Cake, Nebula ... have I missed any?).  But it holds its own against much more expensive competition.  Well worth a demo, and OverTone's installation and authorization procedure is very easy.  Rock-solid stability and low CPU hit round out the good points.  Check it out!

I also own most of their wares and couldn't agree with Eddie more. I did try these new releases and they are very good indeed! Great company to deal with and great value.

    Peace!

    And look at the price!

And IK thinks that $125 "Intro" pricing is reasonable...

These people better get with it...that's all I'm sayin'....

Resurrecting this thread to let you all know that this plugin, a very nice emulation of the SSL console's channel dynamics (comp / gate / expander), is on sale through the end of August for a mere $20.  That's getting into no-brainer territory, I'd say.
