Yet another release... [Aethra]

I've just uploaded another piece to my SoundCloud account.

I ain't gonna link to it until at least three of my other posts have disappeared onto page 2

So get posting your toons peeps

UPDATE:-

Due to the fact that I have now added yet another creation to my SoundCloud page I thought I had better add a link to the previous new release I have been referring to here, just in case anyone else decides they want to listen to it.

My other posts have nearly disappeared onto page 2 now so I don't feel quite so bad about it

The piece is called Aethra, an Oceanid from Greek mythology.

https://soundcloud.com/synkrotron/aethra

Thanks again to everyone who went along to my page anyway, despite me deliberately opting to not give link or even track name

cheers

andy

That can be arranged Andy, them being gone I mean .  What you now have to consider is how well did the Wookiee sleep last night and what kind of furry mood is he in  Or if he was that way inclined he could always just add a link here

Well the track is helping calm the Wookiee beast with its evolving elements, drifting tones, small percussive interludes.  Another Synkrotron classic I think Andy.  Thanks for not sharing .

    Amazing!

I don't post a link and you guys still listen!

Thanks Wooks. There's a lot of Adaptiverb in this piece and I use a couple of sequences to drive the drone pad. Every now and then I let the sequences poke through into the mix.

    Thanks for listening

    cheers

Hard to describe an ambient piece as being riveting, but somehow this was.  Excellent work, Andy.

    Hi Andy,
I have just learnt it here that this kind of music is called Ambient. Hm...
Aethra was interesting... Gave me some "distant space-like" feeling!

You mention on your SC page that you are a "one man band". I am a "one man band" as well and I have never ever recorded anything like this before, I dont even have the perfect instruments for this I guess, but I think I'll give it a try and one day (soon enough, not in 3 years )  I'll compose an "ambient" kind of number. I cannot guarantee 15 minutes... but I think I'll put a nice thumping kick in it...

    Thanks for the experience!

Thank you very much for listening humanrock

I am so glad you liked Aethra. It is a piece that I created specifically for an online compilation album put together by ambientonline.org

If you need any pointers at all, with regards to creating something like this, then, by all means, drop me a line, either here or on my SoundCloud page. I'm still learning the ropes myself to be honest and I owe much thanks to the ambientonline.org forums which have helped me no end.

    cheers, and thanks again,

This would be good instead of the Strauss piece for 2001

Another winner, Andy.   It has your slowly evolving drones happening as usual, but the melodic hits add a little something different, alongside the arps.

    Hiya Steve,

    Thanks

Yeah, took a bit more effort this one. Some of my recent pieces have been mostly effects.

Thanks again for listening to my stuff
