Both are very good, although they were not exactly, as orchestrated as this version of the Renaissance became. I like their albums all the way to the LIVE at CH. After that it kinda lost something for my tastes, still nice, but not as good.

Hi, Weird ... been listening to a couple of CD's I got to replace the albums ... some of the guilty were ... Greenslade, Stackridge, Gryphon, Family (love them and Streetwalkers and Chappo and then some!!!!), Malecorne, Alan Stivel, Heldon and also picked up a couple of Klaus Schulze things from the later periods that I have not heard a lot of ... only to find that his great work ended with "In Blue" and Manuel Gottsching. Also replaced several Goblin albums and Banco albums. Hardest part? a bunch of these albums I have are still not on CD and I don't think they will ever be. Speaking of Jimmy, one album by Roy Harper (Jugula +4) has Jimmy all over it and it is the one album that you can't get a CD from, and I bet that this is probably because of Jimmy's company that won't release it. So screwed up ... it is a totally magnificent album, and Jimmy is very good in it. NP: Roy Harper -- Elizabeth

When the Yardbirds split, Keith Relf and his wife ( I think!) created "Renaissance". But the band that starts with "Prologue" is not the same at all. The concept, was the same. And Francis Monkman went on to "Curved Air" with Sonja Kristina (... should check who she was married to!)

A quick check shows I have three Renaissance albums. One before and one after Prologue. A quick check of my "Album Wishlist" (AKA Discogs.com) shows that they have one other before Prologue and a bunch after.
Speaking of Klaus Schulze, I just saw that he's got another release coming out on the 14th. He keeps busy, ya?

I finally ... FINALLY ... got the CD for Chappo's Hyenas Only Laugh For Fun, which is a great album for my tastes. The album was so beat up that the album could not even be salvaged! Streetwalkers LIVE is also very good. Yeah, Red Card is very special all around. Also got "Anyway" on CD, and that live version of "Good News, Bad News" is fabulous and I played like 6 straight times, before anything on the album!

More interesting and less "traditional" would be GRANADA (Il valle de paz), and Azahar ... and Triana (Un encuentro -- Liego el dia)and I have to locate a couple of others on the Space Pirate Radio tapes ... very influenced by YES, as were a couple of other bands from the region (Machiavel, Atoll) at the time. The better "prog" from those areas does not rely on the picking of traditional players. And while this one is very nice, it is not really that as much as just nice music, and what I would consider synthetic prog. Meaning it's not real, but it is still very good and worth a listen.

I just noticed that the acoustic guitar is a leftie cutaway! Don't see many of those.
