You Better Treat Her Right New Original - Daryl
This is in the classic Texas type country blues rock swing kinda thing..( That is a genre, right?) Fun lyrics, I think. I hope you enjoy. Comments welcome. In a rare occurance, I only used my Thinline Tele on the three guitar tracks here. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=582907&songID=11960992 You Better Treat Her Nice She’s a well-heeled lady and that’s no maybe She’s a real good looker too She’s a real straight shooter and she’s couldn’t be cuter And she knows just what to do She’s caught your eye and you think you’ll try But maybe you better think twice She might go along or she could do you wrong So you better treat her nice She’s left a trail of broken males From here to Kalamazoo You might as well know she’s a black widow And she’ll be comin’ after you. You should think about leaving ‘Cause looks are deceiving. You better run for your life You better make tracks. You better watch your back And you better treat her nice. You can have a good time. You can wine and dine. But you better watch yourself Like things that taste or feel real good She’s hazardous to your health She might seem demure but one thing’s for sure Reckless just won’t suffice You can have your fun but then you better run And you better treat her nice She’s a real smooth talker but she’s a stalker And she might be stalkin’ you. She might cuddle up close and then deliver a dose Of a sweet but deadly brew. There’s no chance she’s lookin’ for romance You better not roll the dice, You should fold your cards. Give her your regards And you better treat her nice

I think the genre thing is about right. It's a fun tune. For some reason, I am picturing a praying mantis.

I like it, nice cans too. (ahh, that I'm listening on?) I think the guitars sound great. Herb and I are about to give you some real Texas Country music ;-) This is classic Daryl though and was well received.

Daryl, you are consistently awesome. This sounds excellent on my monitors and headphones. You always have a way with words, and a great voice, to boot. Bravo.

Excellent Daryl (cool name btw) - 'She's left a trail of broken males' - brilliant. I love this mix and arrangement but I reckon the song would suit a bigger, angrier version too

Herb , Thanks. I was just remaking today to someone that I know nothing about the Grateful Dead. I never followed them in their day and I can't name a single tune they did, although I was into that whole California scene in the 60s and early 70s especially anything with a country rock flavor. Lynn. Thanks for the nod on lyrics. Frank - Thanks much. I have this thing for shuffles... I like them. Daryl - Thank you O Keeper of the Cool Name. I was just tickled that I actually rhymed demure with for sure. Scotty - I think what you were trying to say was it needs some fiddle: and you're right! Thanks man. Marcus - If I made your foot tap, it would have packed the dance floor, and that's always a keeper. Thank you guitar man. Daryl

Awesome work, really tasty tones and style on the axe. Vocals are real cool too and kind of remind me of the Everly bros.

WoW this is really really tight I haven't read the other comments but is it really your own tunes? If it is I think you should be greeted in some hall of fame for semicountryrockstyle sort of song - very nice.

Grant - Thank you! Everly bros.... hmmm.. I thought they were better than that. James - Thank you for the kind words. There are so many incredibly good people on this site that it keeps raising the bar.. which is a very good thing. Paulo - I thought maybe you were one of those males between here and Kalamazoo. Thanks! Warren - Thanks dude. I think I'm going to invest in a tube pre for vocals and bass. I just purchased the EQ bundle from PSP and intial tests show them to be pretty good for bass. eko - Thank you. Songwriting is my one strong trait, there seems to be no end to the melodies out there, and lyrics come in big spurts when they do come. I've really stopped doing covers except in a live situation. Gary - Thanks so much. I too think there might be some good lines in there. I'm still planning on being down your way next May or June at the latest. Would love to stop by. Jan - Thanks from a real old guy. Daryl
