You Have Your Dream (Pop ?)

Here is a simple little, you-can-do-it, feel-good-about-yourself, stiff-upper-lip type of number.  In spite of its simple little melody, hopefully its lyrics provide an encouraging message.

...Hope you enjoy and as always comments, suggestions, crit's, etc. are appreciated.

    Nice job Freddy.

I'd pan the guitars a bit more.

I'd change the lyric on the first occurrence of "situation" (@ 0:49) to "struggle". That first one sounds like to many syllables. JMO.

nice message, it's not always easy to do, "no mater what your situation?" Sometimes our situations are difficult to overcome :-( The song actually gave me a "Kinks vibe" :-)

Hi Bapu!  Thanks for listening and responding.  Good suggestions -- thanks.

Hello Robby.  Your right a lot of times situations present themselves that seem impossible.  Some times these situations present themselves much too much.  The Kinks eh --- I like the Kinks.  Thanks for the comments.

Hey Bob!  Thanks for the listen and the very kind comments.  This is not my usual kind of song but it felt good doing it.

simple but well done. i like how it builds up, with the BV and synths, then the guitar lick. almost like Ravel's Bolero. mix is a little narrow, maybe needs a bit more ambience?

Hey Serious Noize.  Thanks very much for listening and for the kind comments.  By the time I finished this thing it  turned out to be very different from what I had planned --- so, it was not what I expected either :>)

Hi Rhynosynth.  I'm glad that you enjoyed it.  I definitely don't over sell a song  -- do I?   :>)  I must have listened to too much Perry Como when I was a wee toddler. Thanks again.

Thank you Mark.  Simple -- yup, some people describe me that way :>)  I was hoping to start this number off with a statement and build it up into a declaration.  Hopefully, it worked out this way -- at least a bit.  Thanks for the good suggestions.

Hello Dan.  Thanks for the listen and for taking the time to comment.  I appreciate it.

The organ on the left is abit too loud.  Bring up the bass a bit.  Otherwise, great track!  You have a nice voice with your special way of singing.

    Hi Freddy,

I like this a lot!  Love the way it builds as the song progresses.

Your vocals, lead and background, are excellent.  Nice mix, too!

By the way, what's the make of the blue semi-hollow guitar in you soundclick pic?

    song---performance---vocals   + + + 1

suggestion---- drums are centered and have no stereo field compared to the rest of the mix--- they get lost when all the vocals and background vocals kick in

Kinda of a Country Joe feel maybe? I don't usually do the comparison thing but that came into my mind right out of the chute!  Nice job Fredster.  I love the harmonies.

Hi Vicente.  Thanks for commenting and for the kind words.  You make some good points that I will have to check out.

Hello Gary.  That guitar is an Oscar Schmidt (put out by Washburn).  It is out of production as of about 3 or 4 years ago.  When they decided to stop production of this model (Delta King) they dumped all they had produced up to that point on the wholesale market and you could find some retailers that were selling them at incredible prices.  I have no complaints about this guitar.  It has a good sound, has good action, and plays well --- I just wish I could play it better.  Even if it didn't sound good, in person it really looks good :>)    Thanks for taking the time to listen and for the kind comments.

Hey Mark.  Thanks a lot buddy.

Hey Daryl.  It was "You Have Your Dream"  but I'm glad that you liked Dr. Blues.  Thanks for taking the time to comment -- I very much appreciate it.

Hello Janet.  Thanks for taking time to listen and comment.  I appreciate the kind words.

Hello BIABDude.  Thanks for the kind words.  Thanks also for the insight and suggestions about the drums.  I'm going to have to check it out to see if it can be corrected with volume, panning, EQ, or something else.

Thanks John.  I appreciate your taking the time to listen and comment.

Hi Warren.  Country Joe  --- I haven't heard him in a long time.  I'm going to have to see if I can find something of his to listen to.  I appreciate you taking the time to comment and for the kind words.  Thanks buddy.

Very cool little popper.  I really love those 3part harmonies as the song builds.
