    Good Job on this performance wise. Something going on in the music though, it had a warble thing going on. Are you using a karaoke track or are you recording the music? Enjoyed it very much, great job on the vocals.

    I probably transposed to a lower key, the Backing Track I bought.  I am not sure how to correct the timbre of the audio.   Before I got Sonar X3 I used Audacity and mixed the audio of the one transposed to a lower key with another transposition one octave higher.  I'll try that with Sonar X3 on this backing track and see what happens.  If there are other ways of making a correction I certainly would like to learn how to do it.

    Can't help you there, I never do that ,always record my own tracks but I am sure that someone on here can give you some pointers.

    It's never a good idea to use software to transpose a song/track.  Generally, there are artifacts that just make it sound bad. The background voices really gave it away.
     
    The better way is to record it in the proper key.  That's what Sonar is designed to do. If you can't play the instruments needed to do this, you can always ask others to help or check out http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/redmond/projects/songsmith/ since it will do the music for you.
     
    Personally, instead of hearing you try to imitate 2 really famous voices..... sing it in your voice and establish your own reputation as a singer. Your Elvis is closer.  The Willie wasn't. Cut back on the reverb.
     
    Nice idea and concept, but I think, perhaps you should record it again and use tracks that are in the proper key to start with so you can sing it naturally, and in your own voice.

    completely agree with Herb on this.  especially the parts about trying to imitate famous voices and the artifacts that you've created by trying to transpose a backing track.
     
    if you can't play an instrument, at least find a MIDI track that someone's created and allows you to have for free of this or other songs and use a synth to output / record the MIDI to audio.
     
    or buy Band in a Box and create your own backing tracks.
