Believe it or not, my first Scotch was in my mid 20's and I didn't puke.....actually enjoyed it.
I made up for that by drinking/testing everything else.

I do enjoy a good Scotch, but lately I prefer Irish Whiskey. Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition is a nice one, aged in Guinness barrels. And it's price tag is not so expensive.

You know what, I heard that on the radio the other day and thought it's in your vocal wheelhouse.

I've never had a whole one, however much a whole one is deemed to be.

Had a sip of one many moons ago....

Yet to find a convincing reason to try it again.

Technically this:

But I've since become enthused by a different kind of Scotch magic.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

My first one was 0,75 litres of VAT 69 when I was 14.
Well, I did not drink at once. IIRC it lasted for a week or two.

Nowadays my insides don't tolerate whisky like before. Brandy/cognac have always been a synonym
to severe heartburns to me.

Scotch eggs -  hard boiled egg inside sausage meat, inside breadcrumbs. Delicious if home-made, pretty awful from the supermarkets.

Indeed.

At least if they're home made you actually know which part of the pig's anus was used in the sausage

There's been quite a lot of discussion about that on many of the Scotch Egg forums I frequent.

When I went back t the UK, I grabbed a few from Sainsbury's and some pork pies too. It's been 5 years since I left, and this past year I have been craving sausage meat products. They are terrible here.  I wanted Tad in the Hole, but that will have to wait until next year.

My first Scotch Whisky 25/1/93, it was Burn's Night (The Scottish poet, not the power plant owner) and I was living with a Scot.
