    -Bring back the tree

    - Make quoting more stable, as well as deleting parts of quoted text (so your own text isn't "kidnapped" by the quote)

    - Make quote mark-, bold- etc. font options visible in the posting task bar as a rule, not as an exception.

This ONE trio of fixes would make me happy.

Ok fine.  My one forum fix would be to have images go where you actually put them when using the Quick Reply.  Right now, they always go as the first item in the reply and must be moved!  Annoying...

Wouldn't it be great to have an option to list all the threads you participated in, regardless of which forum they are in?

Sometimes, there are moments where regular posters are not online to serve up fresh posts for my amusement at my convenience.  I'd like to have that fixed.

I look forward to seeing my forum issue resolved.  Thank you.

IIRC Bit, the old forum software did have that very feature.

    Image quality/size

My one big change would be to do with posting images.

With the old forum software, you could 'embed' a link to images of virtually any size, and they'd show up at their actual pxl x pxl size.

Now, if you post an image, the quality seems very degraded and larger images are always reduced in size to about 600px x 600px maximum.

The effect on some large screenshots is to render them feckin' useless.

I believe I asked Willy ages ago and he said something about saving bandwidth or the like - don't quote me on that but I'm sure he gave a reason why the quality and size of linked images was so crap.

I would love to have the "breadcrumb" link at the bottom of the page returned...

With images - when you link to an image, how much bandwidth does it soak up?  I thought that a linked image is just that - a link, whereby the forum software simply puts an instruction into the database that tells one's browser where to find that image, and how to place that information into the page layout. Or am I not understanding the process?

    Just curious.

Yeah sorry Russell - I don't remember the exact wording Willy used - it was probably more like 'resources' than bandwidth.

Larger images are definitely resized and displayed at a maximum resolution of about 600px x 600px, which is a right pain though.

I have a feeling Mike McCue was involved in the same thread at the time - he may remember how Willy explained it to us.
