No takers then on this one? I actually think this is a lot better than a lot of my tracks which have received more attention, but then I suppose it's probably in bad taste to be saying these things and bumping my own thread at the same time ;) *embarrassed*

This is a good dance beat, but aside from its abrupt ending, it didn't have too many changes to hold one's interest. On a dance floor my perception might change. What you have is fine as far as it goes.

Good dance track, could be fierce if remixed for clubs

Thanks Warrenlee! To be honest I think that mixing is my weakest area right now so I'd be interested to see what someone with more experience could do with this track. Also thanks for your comments Lynn, I will try to add more variety in future tracks, as well as mixing that is probably the thing I struggle with the most right now.

The hardest part about evaluating these kinds of tracks is that the true experience is usually in a club and will never be heard from end to end in it's "natural environment". The dj is going to mix it in and mix it out. From a former dj perspective it looks like you left plenty of room for that in addition to extra room if the dj wants to hold the blend for a bit before moving on. I think the mix is pretty good. The kick cuts through pretty well. Honestly, I can't find any fault but would love to hear a remix that has a little bit more going on.

Nice beat. Love the single line sequencer line/arp - always a sucker for those if they are done halfway good and this is one is more than that. I would think that the drums/bass should come up for the dance club. As pointed out above there is plenty of space. The rez line I would pan more, just like the single line sequencer. Give some more movement. A few other drops. I can hear some radio/commercial voices floating through this or some kind of vo. In the background to give some depth. @
https://soundcloud.com/a-pleasure-dome http://www.bnoir-film.com/ there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Thank you everyone for your advice! I am definitely learning something new from each track, and I always learn something new from posting on this forum. Actually it's interesting because originally the whole mix was more balanced, and then I made a last minute change by turning down all of the instruments, but maybe it seems I didn't go far enough, and actually the drums and bass should be proportionally louder again. I really need to get a bit more technical with mastering, my only real technique right now is to route each group through a different bus and then route all buses to a master bus, and then I add a Sonitus multiband compressor to the master bus. Most of the actual mixing is done by simply mixing the output volumes of the buses. Anyway I think I may try to remix this and make it even more hardcore. Also I think I should try and add more instrumentation, maybe even an actual lead, but then I really don't know if that's the right thing to do if I'm trying to position this in the House genre. Anyway thanks again for your feedback everyone :)

Also, sorry for the awful post formatting but this forum really doesn't seem to agree with Firefox. It will never let me add paragraphs for some reason :/

I liked the tones and drifty nature of this. I agree the ending should do more, or fade on the heavier beat. But cool stuff..
