Z3ta+ New Midi Arp Function

I'm having a bit of trouble getting a midi file to work in Zeta ver 1.5.3 The documentation that installs with the latest version is dated 2005 and the 1.5 release notes aren't much help. How does one use a standard Midi file in ver 1.5.3/ Thanks.

Ok, I found the Midi folder in all users/application data etc etc but loading a Midi file causes the patch to produce no sound. ( Options/Import Midi File to Arp etc).

Update: I'm having a little success loading a midi file now but it's hit and miss at best. Sometimes loading a midi file will cause sudden patch changes.

Tek, try this: When you load a MIDI file, and it results in silent behavior, use the context menu (by clicking on the GUI arrow to the left) to go to another loaded arp. For example, navigate to Arp001, and then select MIDI File again from the menu.

Don't use left- and right-clicks from the mouse. That context menu workaround seems to fix it every time. I'm trying to work out a recipe to submit for a possible future update. It seems that if there's an arpeggiator already in a preset, the 'silent' MIDI file behavior doesn't occur. If you build a preset from scratch, it does.

Ahh ok, glad to hear I'm not the only one having this issue. Yes I discovered that selecting a non midi arp will sometimes allow the midi arp to work. I'll try it next not using the mouse clicks. In the old versions I think the arps had to be 1 Bar 4/4 Type 0 midi file before the convert to cmp program would work. I don't know if this limitation is still in effect. Thanks for the help, I'll try your suggestions.

I forgot to mention I'm using the Vsti version in FL Studio. I'll try the Dxi version in Sonar 5 next.

All right I tried the Midi Arp function with the Dxi version of Z3ta+ in Sonar 5. Sonar crashed in about 3 minutes while trying to select/change Arp Midi files. I'm finding 1.5.3 frustrating to work with so far. I read where a couple of users have gone back to ver 1.4 which isn't a good sign. Is there something wrong with the midi files I'm using? What are the guidelines/limitations for the Midi files to be used with the Arp? *Sigh* I miss the good old days before Rene' went to work for Cakewalk.
