Z3ta arpeggiator files

In C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Z3TA+ 2\Arpeggios there are a pile of cmp files.  What format are they?  Is there a way to create your own from MIDI data?

"You can import any MIDI file into the arpeggiator. To do so, click the arrow next to the PATTERN field and select Load MIDI File on the pop-up menu...You can also drag a MIDI file to and from the Arpeggiator graph."
