Nice track and I do recognise the mesh parts very nice collab. My only nitpick would be the cymbal crashes do tend to mask the vocal at times.

Thanks Something didn't go quite as it should during mixdown.. New mix up with less compression, which might have made the cymbals mask stuff.. All the best. Edit: Wasn't much better regarding cymbals. Will address that tomorrow.

On my Bose cans the kick is solid, but the rest of the kit is a bit muddy. Love the acoustic guitar work. "The one from last night was from an older version of the project"I hate when that happens! The one thing we didn't have back in the tape days was a folder with a $hite load on different versions File management, what a PITA; we all need an administrative assistant to handle the cue sheets... Cool song, with lots of atmosphere! My only comment about this mix is that the instruments create such a large sound wall that the vocals seem small in relation. If you can address that, I think this would be a much better mix. Regards, Dan

Thanks for listening, Tom. Will go over the drums, and see if I can make'em all (-BD) sound a little better. This was my first time recording my acoustic guitar in the room I'm in now. Thought it sounded quite good. Edit: Mesh did the guitars in the transitions. All the best.

Funny thing about how Ken's project evolved was I initially only listened to this track and just added my 2 cents worth. The song really grew on me and I ended up jamming to it on my acoustic.......Ken heard the tidbits and was kind enough to include them. It was a quick and fun track to work on......thanks Ken!!

Ken, I had to listen to this song a few times. Mainly, because I like the song, but also because I thought it was cluttered and the vocals seem to be drowned out by the toms. You can easily open up this mix by panning the guitars and drums wider. On second and third listens, I noticed that there's a lot of stuff going on in the center of the mix, and though stereo, the mix seemed narrow to me. Panning would open up space for the lead vocal, and perhaps, lend a little bit of dynamics to the mix. All in all, this is a song worth the extra bit of effort to make it shine, and is a gem waiting to happen.

That's quite a well-written tune. Pretty epic death ballad!!! I listened on headphones and the mix was decent but I'd look at the hi hats, they were panned far right? And kind of distorting or breaking up? In a complicated song like this, it just takes a while to perfect things. Maybe some timing issues with the drums could use attention. However, this song is soooo worth the time. Nice job, will check back to hear it after you've lacquered it up a tad. All the bones are there. cheers, -Tom

Lynn Ken, I had to listen to this song a few times.
Thanks for listening and positive feedback, Lynn. I know the mix is cluttered in the middle. Some part of it is due to me "doing the choirs myself", and not finding proper place for them. And the drums needs some work. I'll also try to separate the guitars more. All the best.

emeraldsoul That's quite a well-written tune.
Thanks for the cool feedback, Tom. I'm going to do some more work on the drums, all together. (I think the snare is off some places as well..) I just joined the EW Composer Cloud, so I'm also going to replace all the "choirs", strings, and wood / brass with better sounding tools. Hope that will help. All the best.

Really nice tune, Ken. I think the mix still needs some work, but you've had so many comments on that I'm not sure I can add anything truly constructive.
