Zo X3 Questions !

Hi guyz ! Waiting for my pysical version of X3 to be delivered .....i was wondering several questions , so if you guyz have time ...;)
 
1) when you get X3 , until when can you  upgrade to Melodyne editor version (Cakewalk , is there a way to ask them to extend the offer since physical version aren't even in store now and all my student going for the EDU versions waiting for that )
 
2) The new Eq windows (extended windows that pop up ) : is it linked to the PC physcicaly or can we move it all around and floating it ?
 
3)Is there new metering plugins ? i saw on the X3 video on the FX layout "gognio"  ...if not it would be super urgent to propose a serious metering suite ala Studio one  at least !
 
4) editing with Melodyne : is it destrutiv or is it implemented like V vocla with a layer on  the clip ?
 
5) can we still have color for track and clip independant ?

3. I havent seen any new Metering plugs but I use Ozone anyway...it would be a LOVELY feature to have really good Metering on the Master Bus in Pro Channel...The Quad Curve is a step in the right direction tho.

ok one more question , as you can see in this screen shot , the character of the letters in X2 sucks (for me) and i really prefer the X1 version ....(X1 is more readable than X2)
 
Is it like X1 or X2 in X 3  ?
 
If it's like X2 , is there an option to change it ? ( i searched quikly in the color coustimsiation but only color are availlable not character option : like B / I ect ... 
 

No idea. Looks like it's just a bold version? I would think you can set this somewhere in some ini file, but that is something you could probably test with your current copy of X2?

You don't need to uninstall X2. Unless you need disk space. I don.t understand where the idea that it will be a mess comes from.

X3 will install its vst's into the same folders as X2, so you can still benefit from your old X2 vst's that have been removed for (i guess) administrative reasons. Unless you do a custom installation.

My advice would be to leave X2 in place until you're 100% sure you have no teething problems. This is what i have done, though i now use X3b all the time, its so stable.

I've got X1d, X2a and X3 all installed here with no side-effects.   Though I haven't opened X1 since shortly after getting X2, and haven't opened X2 at all since last week.    I prefer to completely move on to the next version once I have it up and running, and so far that's worked out well for me.
 

Thks for the feed back but SSD disk space is my concern , 8.5 , X1 , X2 , X3 it's start to be a lot ...anyway can somebody tell me about the charater letters thing ? 

Zo, just a quick note about the uninstall stuff. If you do decide to uninstall your previous versions of Sonar, what you WILL lose is the plugins that may have been exclusive to that version of Sonar. For example, I just have X2 and X3 on one of my pc's. If I remove X2, I lose V-Vocal as it is no longer offered in X3. There are other plugs that come with 8.5 and X1 that you would lose if you removed those versions.
 
However, you COULD just pop in those installation discs after you uninstall and just put back the plugs you would need easy enough.
 
On the fonts, I do not think you can edit them from what I'm seeing. I may have missed where you would edit that, but nothing I'm looking at jumps out at me, Zo.
 
Bakers: if you're reading, how difficult would it be to create an exe of all the plugs we know and love that have been swapped out? Would really be great if there was an exe that offered the plugs that we don't have anymore so that we wouldn't have to go searching through versions to re-install if we needed them. I'd be willing to pay for this as some of those old plugs (fx suite and others, now V-Vocal) were quite good in certain situations for me. I too would love to remove my old versions of Sonar on my work computers but know I'll lose those plugs. Is there a simpler remedy that would be quick and painless for this other than searching through older versions to reinstall the plugs?

OK no way to find an option or a file .ini or some where we can change it !! my eyes gonna not like this at all ....Request !!!
 
Second thing , i have found thatto display the track icons on my tracks (track view ) i have to strech way more the track to get it display ..hate that since it take 20% more space !! somebody can confirm this on X 3 ? (option track icon cheled, Big icons )...
 
i think it's due to the new lane and takes options ....implementation ...
