Zoom R16 and X1 continued

So it's a new day.  Sonar X1 is recognizing the Zoom R16 just fine.  Listening to the recorded mic through the PC (headphone jack), the sound is low, but not muffled.  Listening through the Zoom, the sound is low and muffled.  Listening through Zoom direct with sounds recorded direct into the Zoom...awesome.   Anybody have some experience with this?  I am using the most recent drivers...

There may be some help here, but it is for the R24.  I'm assuming that the information would apply to the R16 as well.
