Zoom Tool Issue (when T-lanes are expanded /prev. T-folder is collapsed) - Confirmed by CW
So, is this what Keni was talking about? I must say this is indeed a serious issue for those who frequently use the Zoom Tool (and I'm becoming one of them these days).
If you're interested, follow these steps...
1. Create a new project.
2. Drag an audio file and a MIDI file from the Browser into the empty area of the Track view Clips pane (this will create one audio track and one MIDI track).
3. Minimize the height of the two tracks.
4. Select the two tracks and right-click on one of them and then select Clone Track.
5. Tick the Clone Events box and enter "9" in the Repetitions field, then click OK. You now see 20 tracks in total.
6. Hit Z to switch to Zoom Tool, then select a range that contains one or more clips that you want to zoom (by LEFT-click dragging). The selected clips are enlarged and fit (occupy) the Clips pane, as designed. Hit Alt+Z to undo zoom.
7. Now, do either of the following and then try step 6 again.
- A) Select one of the tracks and hit Shift+T to expand the take lane. In this scenario, select a range in a track or tracks that are below the track that shows the lane, or select a range in the take lane itself.
- B) Pack the first 10 tracks into a track folder and the remaining 10 tracks into another folder, then collapse only the 1st folder and try zooming the clips in the tracks in the 2nd folder.
[Expected Result]
In both scenarios (A and B), the selected range is zoomed in correctly and occupies the Clips pane.
[Actual Result]
In both scenarios, the zoom doesn't work correctly (selected tracks are zoomed in only horizontally, a track or tracks not selected are also visible, etc).
