a Bats Brew Halloween tune: "The Payment (werewolf song)"
https://youtu.be/Pv_dPleLTf4NJOY! high def works best. story background: it's a little ditty about 2 brothers and a lycanthrope....... it's loosely based on the original wolfman movie, the one where larry talbot gets bitten by the werewolf, and he see's the pentagram in his hand; he knows he's phucked, so he goes to the old gypsy woman who knows about these things, to find a cure, and she basically tells him the only thing for him to do, is to kill himself...... quite the bum deal. anyway, these 2 brothers have been partying all night, drunk as skunks, and one of them staggers out into the moor, and proceeds to meets his maker. the remaining brother wants revenge, but has sobered up now, and figures out that he'd better get some kind of ammunition... ....so he goes to see the gypsy-witch, to get some aconite (wolfsbane) and a spell here and a prayer there, and believes that he is well prepared, and he goes out to the moor to get his revenge. but that's not what he gets...... “The Payment” Written by RF Gilliland Nightime, on the moor drank up all the mead mist is in the air full moon, did the deed. never saw the evil... that poor ole son of a **** felt the claws that gripped his throat yeah, he was dead without a twitch. "it's your brother down on the moor, with his head down at his feet!" drink the aconite, tonight toast the witches curse pray to whoever you believe in to pass over you the worst it's your brother on the moor, with his head down at his feet and the debt has not been paid in full will you, your maker, meet? run into the moor and see the evil eye upon you, cast a glance, and the payment, it is nigh.

Terrific song! I really like the atmosphere of the instrumental break. With his head down at his feet. Indeed!

hey maartian! glad you dig it the guitars were a blast to record.... i had an empty downstairs apartment handy when i recorded this some years ago... i had my entire rig setup, and jacked to the max, and i could just stand near the rig and it would start playing..... something! LOL and sometimes it was spooky, so it totally worked. i have 10 tracks of 'sound effect' guitar to work with, and only use a little at a time, but that's all that background noise during the center breakdown part after the loss of head

thanks kzmaier! appreciate the comments, be sure to play it for the wife and kids on halloween night!! LOL, or maybe, not. heheh i worked on this tune off and on for over 10 years..... i submitted it years ago for a compilation record for the Vs planet website, they used to do one every year. it has since gone thru at least 10 different iterations, had full band from he beginning, then only percussion, then the hybrid it is now, an acoustic intro, that blends into an electric spooky section, that morphs into a full on punk rock funeral dirge. LOL

Man that really was scary. I like how you take a story and rewrite it as lyrics for your song. And then make it a video. Pretty cool.

alright eph! sending you on a trip, that was the goal! and it's just fun, this time of the year, to think about getting drunk and having your head ripped off by a lycanthrope.

hey mark! you've probably heard a few versions of this over the years... the vid i did last year, i think. bjornpdx Man that really was scary. I like how you take a story and rewrite it as lyrics for your song. And then make it a video. Pretty cool.
hi Bjorn, scary for the halloween crowd. actually, it's pretty in line with your typical horror flic..... glad you dig it! emeraldsoul I love the up-front acoustic guitars, and the vocals, too. Cool rhythm on that riff. emerald, those acoustics are a new element... originally, it was all electric, and heavier rock sounding.... i thought it was more like a folk tune, that evolves/devolves into a real ripper (sic) LOL that riff IS fun to play. it's really easy to walk that bass note down while still grabbing the higher notes, and tuned down a half step, makes it feel a bit ominous. Freddy J I think that I remember this one. Be that as it may ---- excellent stuff Bats!
hey freddy! tis the season, the only time i ever post this thing!~ Jesse Screed cruel s.o.b nice arrangement this slays yabba dabba dew heh, yea, it does slay. LOL, poor ole son of a B1TCH, he never saw it comin'. PCODE very nice , pro sounding track....
hey, thanks for the kudos on the recording, PCODE appreciate it!
