That was cool.
Any idea if they always shield the pickup cavity (I assume that's the black paint), or is that just on high end models?

What's really fun is live and in color.
Jhughs- I'm not sure when they started and on what models they use the conductive
paint. I haven't checked my newest Strat a '04 50th Anniv. Deluxe but none of my older
Strats have it. No shielding from factory. My Custom Shop '57 doesn't have it either.
The part about that that I found interesting is that I've read and been told that it takes
three coats. Each must completely dry for @12hrs.
I've used it on every build and can assure you that it is some nasty stuff. Unlike that
video -I tape up around cavities and cover everything up. Once it's on...not something you
want to deal with. Got to hand it to that guy in the video...he mopped it in pretty slick.
Maybe since it's Fender it doesn't take three coats?

Nice.
I guess I was a bit caught off-guard in the fact that they are still handmade (keep America working!). I never really thought about the process very much, but expected more robotics in the process. Like the painting.
