I don't know what to say, except that's great! You're one of the few people here I can listen to the entire song, beginning to end without getting bored. (how's that for a compliment :D:D) How do you do your drums? Are they sequenced or live? The patterns are more complex than most people's and they sound live.

Fantastic track, one of my favourites. Got some Allman Bros vibe in the harmony guitars. Isn't it in 6/8 though, rather than 3/4 waltz time? Whatever...

Great song, as usual, Rob. But I agree that this is 6/8 rather than 3/4, but who's counting?

Go figure... it sounds great, as always. Your songs just sound like you, through and through. There's nothing I didn't like about it. The 3/4/6/8 groove just feels great, and the layers of guitars are schweet.

Great on all levels -- composition, execution, mix... I admire how the instrument is dense and complex without sounding like everything is stepping on each other. I'd like to learn how to do that better. Well done!

HEY EPH, saying it's 'great', is great! heheh thanks man. the drums on this one, were done in Sony Acid (loop program).... i output a single stereo wav file after i wrote the drum track, later to regret not outputting individual kit piece files! oh well..... jamesg1213 Fantastic track, one of my favourites. Got some Allman Bros vibe in the harmony guitars. Isn't it in 6/8 though, rather than 3/4 waltz time? Whatever...
jamesG, thanks man.... allman bros, def an influence, growing up in the south, i heard this music all the time. i hear it as 3/4.... but if you base it off the main riff, it's 6/8. i'm not sure what the 'rule of law' is with definition of 3 time, i count it "one-two-three, one-two-three" Lynn Great song, as usual, Rob. But I agree that this is 6/8 rather than 3/4, but who's counting?
thanks lynn, i appreciate the listen..... and i never count when i'm actually playing, i just get lost in the rhythm.... if i count, i step on my own toes! LOL

very interesting. based on that, 'following light' is in 6/8. cool.

thanks rebel, i'm really glad you dig it synkrotron This is the business Love your voice Rob...
hey synk, that's so nice of you to say... folks always talk about the guitar playing, which honestly, is just easy for me at this point, but folks hardly ever mention the singing, which i work on a lot harder, so thanks! cwestmont Great on all levels -- composition, execution, mix... hello cwestmont, yes, it's pretty dense... i basically start out dense mixes with a mono mix for levels, then throw it all LCR, then start pulling things in to bring out sepearation.. that seems to work pretty well for me.

hey bobF, you know, channeling rush with a straight 6/8 tune, i guess it's a possibility!

biodiode What a fantastic tune with a nice wide sound field. Only have one word left to say.......fantastic.
thanks biodiode! glad you dig it.... it's just dead obvious to hard pan similar electric rhythm guitar parts hard left and right, to get a wide-sounding mix, but it's less obvious to actually arrange the song to create the panning effect, some elements of this one i nailed, and some i didn't.... but it's all a big work in progress!! thanks for joining in
