a post of no complaints or questions...

Issues and observations aside, I absolutely love Sonar Platinum. Compared to the grind of my precious daw system (Roland VS-2480), I feel like I'm taking to this as a duck to water. There is so much to be learned, but I feel the answers to these issues are somehow 'soft around the edges'.
Not one song yet recorded, but the learning along the way makes the journey that much more enjoyable.
The discoveries of what this magnificent program can do...it's just pleasant all around.
I am fully aware that troubles surely lie ahead, but I feel the road will be as smooth as I wish it to be.

The confidence given by all who approach my issues, I appreciate so much. Most of you have learned the hard way, but are so willing to point me (and other newbies) in the right direction, offering shortcuts you may not have had the advantage of knowing, yet so willing to pass that on to us. Warning us of 'potholes up ahead' after being victims to them yourselves, there's no greater gift than helping your fellow man.

I say, thank you...
Thank you for helping me to find my footing in this most wondrous adventure.

Joni

Btw, joni's my name. You might be thinking I'm some nice looking chick, but I'm as guy as they come.
I was born left handed. Everyone tried to force me to write right-handed. My penmanship suffered for it. By the time they gave up on me, I could barely write at all.
My name, spelled johnny, was very difficult to write. In an effort to wrong her forcing on me, mom told me I could spell my name any way I wished.
I took out the H's, they were silent anyway, but jony looked weird. I then tried joni. It looked good, easy to spell, so from the age of 10 or so, that's how I've spelled my name. It wasn't until joni Mitchell popped on the scene that I learned it was a girls spelling.
Ah well, I stuck with it. And it worked out kinda cool. Becoming a young musician with a bit of a unique name kinda worked.
Anyway...

Ya wanna hear the stranger part?
My wife's name...is..Kevin.
My beautiful bride of 42 years...Kevin. very much a lady. She has many stories growing up...
Getting a draft notice. Enrolled in boys p.e. anytime were at a doctors office together, they call kevin, she stands up .." no I'm sorry ma'am...that's KEVIN. "I am kevin'...

So...
Still wanna clone me, lol?

Names that cross gender boundaries aren't so rare. I know male and female Viv's and Les's and even now, 40 years after first encountering it, a woman named 'Robin' still makes me blink for a second. In the UK it's an exclusively male name, in the US female.

You are absolutely right.
When my daughter was born last year, I almost named her Charlie (after me) but instead decided on Charlotte because the wife and I were trying for 1 more, hoping for another boy ( I already have 2) .... and guess what ?

Yeah, we're spoilt. I used to use a Roland MC500 for midi and a Tascam 244 for audio - one track dedicated to the MC500 sync track.

Big ole + 1 to that!   It's nice reading posts from someone like this with a honest and positive attitude.

And if they cloned you, Baps, well...  I'm afraid of what might happen at a quantum level.   Just imagine, Spooky Bapuki and the Entangled Particles.

Thank you, guys, for your nice comments. I know cross gender names are getting more common.
Kevin (girl), Joni (boy) are a bit more unusual. We thought we might never hear of another girl named Kevin. That ended early 1994 when we read news that Steve Wynn, owner of Wynn casino had to live through the horror of his daughter, Kevin being kidnapped. Thankfully, she was releases after a ransom was paid.
Sad way to learn that little tifbit.
