accidentally recorded each drum overhead in stereo, need to split into L/R

I was wondering why my cymbals sounded center no matter how far L/R I put them and I realized I recorded each mic as a stereo input :O
I really like the takes and don't want to redo so is there a way I can delete a channel on each as if I recorded them in mono?

THnx!

It's not what we're doing, it's how you do it :)

Are you saying that you recorded the left and right mic as left and right channels on two different tracks? If so you can just one as a stereo track.

Or are you saying that you recorded two examples of the left mic on one track and two example of the right mic on another track? If so you can use the pan controls as normal.

Most wave editors like Adobe Audition etc. will let you split a stereo track into 2 mono tracks easily.

You can use SONAR's export function and make choices of what you want to export as a work around method of splitting tracks as well.

    Have fun!

    best regards,

You can handle this situation in two ways:

    1.  Non-destructively - using Sonar's included Channel Tools plugin.
    2.  Destructively - using a wave editor (like Mike mentioned) to extract the desired channel (left or right)

Channel Tools allows you to swap channels, mute or control gain of either channel, flip the phase of either channel, etc.  Very simple... but handy tool

Try bouncing them to tracks, and choose the split L/R option in the bounce dialogue.
