adjust preset midi note length - how?

Hi! When I paint a midi note in X1's PRV, it just comes out as a whole note. Tried to set any parameter to 1/16 but still it goes like that. How on earth do I change that? /Mikael

    Bring up your Tools HUD ("T" or click your scroll wheel), and choose a duration from the drop down in the lower right corner.
