adjusting velocity PRV
After trying the usual suspects[smart tool, edit tool] I thought by clicking, holding, and dragging on the velocity lines in PRV with session drummer 3, the height[velocity!] would be adjustable! But oh no,nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Also I have a M-AUDIO key rig 49 control key plugged to usb only, works fine but when I choose to lay bass after session DR.[3!] I can play bass lines but, the keyboard is still triggering session drummer as well as the bass! It seems I have to bounce to tracks[the drums] if I dont want the keyboard triggering the drums as well as the bass-ridiculous!How do I get the keys to only trigger ONE thing time?Ive tried setting the IN on SD to none but lo and behold a drum hit with EVERY bass note! 5 months and still feel like blind person. These 2 for now,THANKS PEOPLE,RK.

I use the velocity pane in the PRV. Select the notes you want to change velocity on and then select the draw tool F9. drag draw velocity in the velocity pane. I would think that you have Omni selected on the SD3 MIDI track input, hence it is receiving MIDI data from your keyboard.

You can also "grab" the velocity towards the top of the note and drag the value up or down..

'None' - is bizarrely actually Omni. You need to turn off input echo on the track(s) you don't want to play and unless you have "always echo current track" unchecked in preferences make sure your drum track isn't the current one.

Thanks guys,The draw tool definately helped.Still only works sometimes,I think cause the purple lines are so thin[even after zoomed]that their detection is so hit and miss. What is "cc" underneath[below] velocity? I still cant get the drums to stop being played when I play a bass line with a different synth.Oh well more trial/error.RK.

I've only just noticed this bit. 'None' - is bizarrely actually Omni. You cannot choose None as an input if "Always Echo Current MIDI Track" is enabled. SONAR will default to Omni on the assumption that you can't "always echo" if there's nothing to echo. But, as you correctly pointed out, the OP just needs to make sure the SD host track does not have Input Echo forced on, and/or does not have focus if Always Echo" is enabled.

CC stands for control change. You must be triggering the drums somewhere. Do you have another MIDI track with a drum sound on it? What channel is your controller broadcasting on? If you set that to broadcast on channel 1 then change the drum track to receive only on channel 10 then that should stop it. If not, there must be another track somewhere. I'm assuming your keyboard is just a controller with no sounds of its own. If it does have sounds make sure that 'local off' is selected on it to make sure its not that generating the drums.

Thanks FBB,I fixed it by turning off[unchecking]"always echo current MIDI track".Then turnig off echo on sessiondrummer instrument track[track 1]Also Im getting excellent "low latency" with ASIO4all wrapper on my realtek laptop device, much much better than proper[?] ASIO on a cakewalk UA-25EX[lowest 25-40ms,depending]However even after "disabling" the built in mic, I cannot turn up a audio track assigned to the line in on the laptop without feedback! Ive disabled the mic in W7 "playback/recording/sounds" and this machines "waves maxx audio 3" control panel, but still feedback! So back to the main room with the much hated USB/interface crap.Such a bummer cause this laptop[Dell XPS 15]has really suprising sounding speakers and volume, and after trying ASIO4all again IM able to wind the latency down to 2ms!Amazing compared to the UA!Anyway Cheers RK.

Hi - just be aware that now you have "always echo current MIDI track" turned off you'll have to make sure that "Echo MIDI" is active on any tracks you do want to hear. It may auto turn on when you activate the track, I can't remember TBH. Sounds like you have some sort of feedback loop (obviously) although you've already done everything I'd suggest. I too had good success with ASIO4ALL a couple of years ago using it in place of some regular Alesis drivers.
