aftertouch keeps re-appearing

Hi,
I've received some MIDI tracks from a cowriter and they have aftertouch data in them.
I go track by track to delete the aftertouch data and then hit the tiny "-" (minus) button on the aftertouch lane in the piano roll to make it disappear, but when I re-open any of the MIDI tracks via the piano roll the aftertouch lane re-appears, despite there being no data in it.
 
Kind of annyoing since I really need to work on the velocity lane, and it's always in the way.
 
Does anyone know how to make it go away permanently?

    That's strange. I am unable to duplicate this problem.Are you absolutely sure there is no aftertouch data? Try using the Event List view to confirm there is no aftertouch data. If this happened to me I would use the Select by Filter tool to make darned sure I had deleted all the aftertouch events. Are you seeing two controller lanes? One for velocity and one for aftertouch?

    Yeah - two controller lanes - even if I delete everything from the aftertouch lane - and I checked the event list editor and there are no aftertouch events after I have deleted the info.

    Well, I still can't duplicate the problem. I do everything you did but when I open the PRV again there is no aftertouch lane. I can't think of any setting that would result in what happens to you. I wonder if it could be a sysex problem. Select the track and go to to Views>Sysex. Is there anything in there other than Turn General Midi System On?

    Delete the lanes you don't want. Hit " C " twice. The lane setup will remain the way you set it for the duration of your session. After you save and exit and re-open later, you'll have to deal with this again.
