My replacement Dachshund is actually called Willy. I thought it was already commonly known that I have a short Willy to follow, which is why I've never mentioned it before.

It will just fade away as Americans continue to "dumb down" as evidenced by its choice of leaders. The evil forces of the Right are raising their fist with lies and obfuscation to stop Americans from climbing out of the hole that's they've been put in for the last eight years. I believe this whole economic crisis was another GWB tactic to once again use fear to turn the election. We can't let them get us again.

[sm=rolleyes.gif] Ooookaaay...do you really think GW is smart enough to singlehandedly destroy the US financial system? Lets clear this up once and for all. The US government does not control Wall Street. Nothing the US government did caused this crisis and they probably could not have prevented it. So lets stop the loose finger pointing and place the blame on where it really belongs....on Al Gore.

Sure, don't worry I won't tell. But you really should take some tolerance classes. Democrats aren't all bad....

I don't think politicians are evil. I think they are human, and by nature fallible. Political parties in general are the real broken cog in Washington. In an environment where there is no such thing as a good idea unless your side thought of it, it is impossible to pass good legislation. If one side creates a bill, the other side will poison it with added legislation which will make it impossible to pass. It has always been that way since the Greeks, and I don't think it will stop because of Obama or McCain. In a way, however, they are good, because they create balance, so only the most important issues for everyone get serious cooperation.

Well, since we only have 2 choices, I think without a doubt he is the BEST choice. At least he has a Law Degree from Harvard and graduated top in his class. McCain was 895 out of 900 in his graduating class. Is that what we want for America? We've already had an underachiever for president for the last 8 years and look where we are. He had a Republican Congress for 6 of the last 8 years that passed everything he wanted (including a war in Iraq to find Weapons of Mass Destruction which they never found.) McCain has voted with him 90% of the time. He IS "McSame". He's not a Maverick. He doesn't have any solutions. At least Obama has 2 books you can get at the bookstore and read about his plans for America.

McCain is 72. If he dies, then Palin is the president. She has a bachelor's in Journalism. That's not enough qualification to work for a newspaper. She is the governor of a state (for less than 2 years) that has less people than most major cities in the continental US. I shudder to think what would happen if she became president. I'm not anti-women because I supported Hillary as a good candidate with some reservations about her past. Still she's heads and shoulders over Palin. McCain is a wounded animal at this point and he will do or say anything to win this election. Don't believe the lies. Obama's been running for 2 years. He's been well-vetted.

I think the smart choice is clear. We must have change (and McCain is NOT change)... and soon... the stock market is below $8500 and my 401K is not looking good and probably yours isn't either.

Does *anyone* in this country think Palin is qualified/ready to be President? Very strange choice, IMO, showing very poor judgment by McCain. It's like he was just throwing this in our face, saying "Don't worry -- I'll live through this".

But God forbid he doesn't -- How many would be comfortable with President Palin?

    Thank You...............

Green span warned about the lending practices, and it bubble bursting,... well before his exit...............

Bush......... warned............about the very same thing midway thru his first term...............

He was then painted as an evil right winger, trying to take away the minority and the middle/lower classes ability or entitlement to home ownership..................

Entitlement, greed, and overall American apathy(laziness) got us where we are now................

Americans are getting a big dose of reality.............

The rest of the world has caught up, and or already learned its lessons...........

They earn and then save their earnings.......... its that simple...........we do neither............

Now, its us dragging them down.........

The standard of U.S. living has just changed................get used to it.

I am rolling up my sleeves and sucking it up as we speak.

My "Funds" , are all way down , and my business is down(construction based)..guess what ...........

Its my fault, I chose to invest, I chose to be self employed, I chose new construction....................

I'm OK with that.....I have to be.......I'll have to work harder to get through it..........

I suggest everyone quit whining, finger pointing or crying ......take some responsibility for your decisions ,get back to basics, and help each other , anyway you can.......................

The current crisis is bad.........deeper than most will even understand.......a political change right or left won't magically fix anything.........

A change in personal responsibility and working together will............

Yes, but you'll need to get some experience. Don't forget Obama served 2 terms in the Illinois State Senate and he is in his first term in the US Senate. Not a lot, but I'd rather him then McSame.

Geez, you really don't want to talk about qualifications about Obama, do you? Whether you want to vote for him or not, you have to admit he's an enigma wrapped inside a riddle. Harvard law reveiw editor and didn't publish anything. Chairman of the analberg project - $160 million spent on outside education in Chicago that accomplished squat when measured the schools they had worked with against those that didn't get the extra attention. 2 terms as state senator - that means he missed about 70 important votes a term - exactly the kind of decisions he will have to make as president. Started running for president after 1 year as Senator. I mean, he has some fine qualities, but can anyone point out a single thing he has accomplished? A bi-partisan law (that goes beyone naming post offices)? Anything other than 2 auto-biographies? Didn't think so.

There are plenty of reasons to vote for or against either candidate. I think McCain stepped all over the 1st Amendment with McCaine/Feingold, and it was fun to see him fume when lawyers smarter than the governments figure ways around it. So, if you want to talk about politics on a music forum, go ahead. But at least try to be rational.

I agree that we need a change from the last eight years, and being more "middle of the road" politically I really hoped to vote with the Democrats this election. However, for me it is a difficult choice. It has nothing to do with race for me. It is Obama's past ties with some really shady people. And, he has yet to explain these relationships in any detail other than; "they just live in the neighborhood". He has yet to define in detail how he will do anything, just more rhetoric. And, I feel McCain has failed to articulate his platform in any great detail either.

It is sad to say but most politicians are not "in it" for the people they represent. They are there to benefit their special interests, their party, and their own pocketbooks. They are all already wealthy and work very hard at lessoning their work hours, increasing their own pay and benefits, and do very little for us middle and lower class citizens. It is going to be a tough choice!

My only point to my previous post is that neither of them can really be trusted. They will say anything to get elected. And those of you out there who actually believe the rhetoric from either candidate should wake up!

Cast your vote based on your own investigation into the issues and not just what you are told by your particular party's candidate. Vote smart.

    Rumleymusic,

So you think I'm a racist, and you base this on my poorly worded sentence, even after , I clarified my meaning. Boy, you are very quick to judge a man. And, with so little evidence to support your accusation.

Uh oh ... a trolling extravaganza has issued forth.

I thought this topic is about death and dying or something.

If it helps JS, I agree with you: I think all politicians are serious crooks and sinners like you and I. Albeit I'm probably the worst of sinners, in my stupid opinion.

With all the music that's left behind, maybe a song or 2 of ours will survive longer ... Peradventure a hymn or something.

Anyway, please note my permament disclaimer.

    Hello,

I agree that we need a change from the last eight years

This election will mark the 10th president I've lived under. Exactly what "change" are you expecting?

BTW, you are violating the #1 rule of a manufacturer's user forum - NO POLITICS. It is not relevant to the discussion of digital audio. There are so many places where you can have at this subject. Why bore others?

Obviously you don't remember the "Coffee House." The former "anything-goes" section of the Sonar forums. It got so crazy (and extremely disrespectful) that one day "poof" the Coffee House section was gone along with its thousands of posts. Most of those "fun loving" members banded together to create the ultimate off-topic forum called "The Other Place." I'd strongly recommend you visit there. It's "right up your alley."
