akai mpk249 problems with sonar x3

I have the akai mpk249 keyboard and cant get any help from akai with 2 problems
1) the G# note wont play, it plays in other DAWs and synths but not in sonar x-3
2) I cant get the control surface functions such as stop play rec and rewind functions to work in sonar
 
dell laptop inspiron 17 with core i5, sonar studio x-3 presonus audiobox 22vsl

    1) if you have already configured Control Surface in sonar, try to temporarily remove it to see if G# works. It can happened that you have assigned G# to some Control Surface function, so it is blocked.
    2) which plug-in are you using? Generic Surface or ACT MIDI? In both there are "Learn" functions, but they are a bit different. Also your AKAI can be configured to send something they do not understand.

    Also make sure in Edit -> Preferences -> Customization -> Keyboard shortcuts
    that there is not a midi 'shift' option on the missing key (lets you use midi keyboard keys for shortcuts).

    I have the MPK261 (61 key version) and I made a thread about the same thing really. Here's my thread if there's any help in it.
    I'm still figuring it out myself.
