Just did a quick test on my office computer which only has 8 gigs of ram and an AMD Phenom 955 processor. Haven't tried it on my studio DAW which is an I72700; so this is a preliminary report using an older PC.
First, it is 32bit. So that will be a concern for some users who only run 64bit.
Second, some of the patches are in fact cpu intensive. On this old AMD 955 some of the presets increased CPU by 8 percent; others were just 2 percent. So it can be a little CPU hog. It comes with 32 presents.
Third, and this is just an impression, but I was struck by the tone of several of the presets which were pads. I can see how it can be easily tweaked to sound kind of like Hollow Sun family of odd relic tones since that was mentioned on developer's forum. It definitely has the capacity for some interesting pads and it is easy to tweak the settings and get interesting textures or cool pads.
Fourth, not much to the GUI; very basic, but it gets the job done.
Fifth, it is free. Worth taking a look if you are after more pads.
It won't replace Omnisphere or Alchemy, but it is kind of cool in its on way, basic, but it is free.
I think I am going to keep it for now. I actually liked playing with if for half an hour or so.
EDITED: Here below is the description the develop provided on their forum:
Alpha Pegasi is sample-based synthesizer. It has four oscillators, each containing 86 instruments in 6 categories. Every OSC has its own Gate, 3 band EQ, Delay, Envelope and Vibrato. There are 4 LFOs that can be routed to any OSC Amp, Pan and EQ. Plugin is designed mostly for Pad and Synth sounds, but due to full-spectrum modulation it can produce miscellaneous atmospheric effects.
