altima_boy_2001's Pan Laws table updated for Pan Law fix in SONAR >= 8.5.2
I know some of y'all use altima_boy_2001's Pan Laws table for SONAR 6 to manage track export levels.
AFAIK, no one has updated it since the Pan Law fix was introduced in SONAR 8.5.2.
I had a couple of hours to kill this week, so I recreated his test in SONAR X1 to see the effect of the fix.
With the PanLawCompatMode configuration parameter set to True, the results matched the SONAR 6 results.
With PanLawCompatMode set to False, differences were observed when using the -3db and -6db center pan laws (as expected).
Here is a difference report comparing the SONAR 6 and SONAR X1 results:
Pan Laws Table Diffs And here is an updated version of the table modified to reflect the new results:
Pan Laws Table (SONAR X1)
Again, if you always use a 0dB center pan law, there is no change in the table.
The other interesting thing to note is that export levels now match the playback meter in
every pan law setting when exporting to stereo with Track Automation checked in the Mix Enables settings on the Export Audio dialog.
The whole thing makes much more sense now. Kudos to the Bakers.
